As the story unfolds, One Piece has introducef some major plot twists over its 25 years of serialization that shook fans to their core (such as Sanji being a Vinsmoke or Luffy’s true Devil Fruit powers). Although the series foreshadows some of the major events, it is truly surprising how the sudden revelations manage to shock the fans. While some twists took nearly decades of work to build up, it was certainly worth the wait.

However, if the rising fan theories are any indication, the fans are not one to give up. While some fan theories have been proven true, there are quite a lot of theories that are still unconfirmed. One such theory is Saint Ju Peter’s connection to Sanji.

Sanji and Saint Ju Peter’s Connection

A popular theory among One Piece fans is that Sanji is related to Saint Ju Peter, one of the five Gorosei and the head of the agricultural sector. However, with the actual information on him and the rest of the members of the Five Elders, the theory that Saint Ju Peter is Sanji’s uncle needs to be reassessed.

According to the theory, since Saint Ju Peter is the head of the agricultural sector, it puts him in charge of everything related to food. Similarly, Sanji is also passionate about cooking and feeding hungry people. Moreover, fans also theorized that Saint Ju Peter might also be related to the Germa Kingdom.

But the latest information about the Five Elders pokes holes into this theory, given that Saint Ju Peter hails from the Shepherd Family, one of the Founding 20 families that joined forces to fight against the Ancient Kingdom. This disproves all theories that establish a connection between Sanji and Saint Ju Peter.

Saint Ju Peter Might Be Sanji’s Final Opponent

Sanji’s final opponent might have already been foreshadowed in Chapter 1110 of One Piece. Sanji might have been slated to go against Saint Ju Peter from the very beginning. This relates to Sanji’s ultimate dream of finding the All Blue, an unknown sea located in the Grand Line with all kinds of fish.

So the question is- how does that make Saint Ju Peter Sanji’s archnemesis? The answer to this lies in Sanji’s dream of finding the All Blue and how Saint Ju Peter might have been behind the disappearance of this sea body somewhere in the Grand Line. When this information is revealed to Sanji in the upcoming chapters, a fight could break down at any given moment between Sanji and the Gorosei.

Fans also speculate that Saint Ju Peter’s form as a ‘Sand Wyrm’ could be a reference to Frank Herbert’s book, Dune, where sandworms exist in the same form as Saint Ju Peter’s devil form. This also relates to the fact that the sandworms’ weakness is water or ‘moisture’, as mentioned in the book. A conjecture could be drawn between Saint Ju Peter’s weakness being water and him removing the All Blue from existence.

Since All Blue is also a mystery, fans speculate that this mysterious water body could eliminate the Devil Fruit powers and allow the users to float, which normally wouldn’t be possible. Thus, the responsibility of removing this unique water body could have been put into the hands of the God of Agriculture, Saint Ju Peter.
