Barbie, the iconic doll created by Mattel, was transformed by Greta Gerwig into a humorous one-hour 54-minute masterpiece. The highly anticipated film of 2023 landed in theaters last weekend. The film starring Margot Robbie as the iconic Barbie doll and Ryan Gosling as her lover Ken is shattering records at the box office.

Robbie’s film clashed with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and painted the world pink, giving tough competition to the sci-fi drama. The film is challenging the Hollywood scene in more ways than one with its colorful BarbieLand, glamorous cast, and refreshing plot. With its stellar cast, Barbie has taken over the world and is rising at the box office. The film feature Margot Robbie and Gosling as the leads and included several actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here is the list of Marvel stars that appeared in Barbie.

The actress has written and starred in HBO’s Insecure (2016-2021), which earned her three Emmy Award nominations. Rae plays President Barbie in the Margot Robbie-led film Barbie. She is the leader of Barbieland, the place where all the Barbies and Kens live. 

The 38-year-old has made her debut in the Marvel Universe. She has been part of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Rae played Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, in the film. She worked with Oscar Isaac’s Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099.

Alexandra Shipp, an American actress, and singer, rose to fame after portraying singer Aaliyah in the Lifetime television film Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B (2014) and Kimberly Woodruff in the Oscar-nominated film Straight Outta Compton (2015). She even played an important role in the musical drama Tick, Tick… Boom.

Shipp performed a crucial role in Barbie as Writer Barbie alongside Margot Robbie and the other stars. The 32-year-old actress was part of Fox’s X-Men universe. She has played Ororo Munroe, aka Storm, in the X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool 2, and Dark Phoenix films.

3. Kingsley Ben-Adir

Kingsley Ben-Adir is a British actor who got his breakout in Hollywood in 2017 with a role in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. He played pathologist Marcus Summer in ITV’s detective drama Vera and private detective Karim Washington in the second season of the Netflix series The OA

The 37-year-old plays the other Ken in Barbie. He serves as the best friend of Ryan Gosling’s Ken in Barbieland. The actor even made his MCU debut this year. He played Gravik in Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion series on Disney+.

4. Ariana Greenblatt

Barbie stars Ariana Greenblatt as Sasha, Gloria’s daughter, who works with Margot Robbie’s Stereotypical Barbie and the other Barbies to reestablish order in Barbieland. 

The young actress was part of the MCU. She played the younger version of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña) in Avengers: Infinity War. It marked Greenblatt’s first feature film ever. The 15-year-old actress recently starred alongside Adam Driver in Sony Pictures’ dinosaur thriller 65.

5. Asim Chaudhry

Asim Chaudhry is an English comedian, writer, director, and actor. He is best known for his role as Chabuddy G in the BBC mockumentary series People Just Do Nothing. The actor had a minor role in Barbie. He was a Mattel Warehouse employee in the film.

Chaudhry was part of MCU. He voiced the MCU character Teefs, a friend of Rocket Raccoon in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, finally debuted in theatres this past weekend. The film is performing brilliantly at the box office smashing all the records. Barbie has broken box office records with the highest opening of the year at $162 million.
