6 Crew Members Injured on Set of Gladiators 2: “We have strict health and safety procedures”
There are many instances of injuries and accidents on film sets ranging from small harmless ones to the most fatal ones that have even resulted in death. Adding another such incident to the list, recently it came to light that the upcoming film Gladiator 2 which is in the process of development at the moment faced an explosion on the set. Reportedly six crew members got injured and were immediately sent under treatment.
Additionally, none of the main cast members namely Pedro Padcal, Paul Mescal, etc got harmed due it the incident. Following the incident, a spokesperson has since shared that the injured are all healing and out of danger as far as it is concerned.
Gladiator 2 Film Crew Members Suffer Injuries On Set
Films with scenes that include dangerous actions, stunts, and the use of weapons have strict safety procedures naturally. And these need to be kept in check all the time. However, even after all that, accidents tend to happen sometimes. This is exactly what seems to have happened on the set of Gladiator 2 recently.
The project is in the filming stage at the moment and the set is in Morocco. As per reports, an explosion during a scene caused six crew members to get burn injuries on the set. Luckily, the medics employed on the set were able to quickly come to the rescue without any delay.
The injured were taken to the hospital for further treatment. A spokesperson shared with Variety,
“We have strict health and safety procedures in place for all our productions”
And according to the person, all of the six crew members are in stable condition with four already discharged from the hospital. Furthermore, it was also added that the monitoring would continue to prevent any such future scenarios. As far as it can be seen the injuries were not life-threatening and none of the main cast members got hurt.
A Brief Look at The Upcoming Gladiator Sequel
Directed by Ridley Scott, Gladiator 2 is an upcoming epic drama starting with Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielson, etc. It serves as the sequel to the Swords and battle-filled Roman story that viewers saw in the 2000 Gladiator. This time the story will focus on the character of Ablai Khan, a descendent of Genghis Khan.
The filming started this month as reported earlier and it will take four months to wrap up the production as far as the reports go. Gladiator 2 is set to release on 22nd November next year (2024).
