Aaron Taylor-Johnson Issues Yet Another Suspicious Statement on Him Playing James Bond
After Daniel Craig’s departure from the wildly popular James Bond franchise left fans disheartened, speculations are being made as to who will now play the British spy.
Names like Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are in question. The latter is rumored to be ahead in the race, allegedly having shot the infamous gun-barrel scene as 007. These suspicions with the actor’s impressive back catalog of action films and impactful acting, seem a promising choice to play James Bond.
Taylor-Johnson was asked to speak on the subject which has increased the suspicions of his playing the British spy.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson Reacting to Rumors
After five films that launched Daniel Craig into global stardom, the 55-year-old bid adieu to the character. And the search for a new James Bond seems to have allegedly ended with Aaron Taylor-Johnson. After sources revealed the news, the internet was abuzz. Taylor Johnson has been busy shooting and promoting his upcoming films. One of which is the Spider-Man villain movie, Kraven the Hunter. The actor has been doing a lot of interviews for the same.
In a recent interview, the Tenet actor has finally broken his silence on him supposedly taking on the role of James Bond after Craig’s departure from the series. The actor’s comment came on the subject after having long been asked about it. He said:
“As I’ve already told you, I have to go by the beat of my own drum. It’s my own path, what feels intuitive to me. I’ve never made a decision based on other people’s perspectives, or their judgments, or their expectations….You’ve got to stay on track with what’s present in front of you. Kraven is what’s in front of me.”
The star emphasizes that he is not phased by the chatter of him being the lead in a Bond movie. He claims he is not pressed with the matter and is focusing on the present.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson Washes Hands off James Bond Rumors
Aaron Taylor-Johnson was quick to put an end to the rumors that have been shadowing him around in every interview. Commenting further, he said:
“It’s not really for me to say anything, I just focus on the things I can have in my hands right now. What’s in front of me right now.”
It is worth noting that this is a great way to deflect the actual question. In no way, his answers tackled the actual subject. There’s no denial that can be heard in his answers. And the lack of simple, small word No in his answers has done nothing to cease the rumors.
