Whenever we think about Disney or anything related to it, all we think about is happiness and great memories apart from overpriced food and parking tickets right? But the actors who worked with the network don’t really have such great memories.

While Scarlett Johansson did make the news when she sued Disney, there are celebs who once upon a time worked with the production house and it didn’t sit well with them. They have opened up about their problems over these years. Have a look:

1. Joe Jonas

Disney Stars who revealed secrets
Joe Jonas was unhappy with Disney

He was working with Disney Channel along with his brothers. The Camp Rock movies were definitely everyone’s favorite. They were even on an Original series called Jonas. He was not happy about the strict rules and even criticized the channel for its pathetic writing. In an interview back in 2013 he had said the following:

“It just ended up being some weird slapstick humor that only a 10-year-old would laugh at. They took out the kissing scene that Nick had. I had to shave every day because they wanted me to pretend like I was 16 when I was 20 (when the show was done, I cut my hair off and grew as much of a beard as I could). We went along with it at the time, because we thought Disney was our only real shot, and we were terrified that it could all be taken away from us at any moment.”

2. Demi Lovato

Demi rocked in Camp Rock

She definitely rose to fame thanks to the musical film Camp Rock and the sequel. She went on to star in Sonny With A Chance. Later she even starred in a Disney film called Princess Protection Program with Selena Gomez.

In 2020, she opened up about her time with Disney. Here’s what she had to say:

“I’m grateful for the opportunities that I got. Do I wish that I’d had more downtime? Yes. I think when you are a teenager and you’re given your big break, you’ll do anything to make it happen,” she said. “I do feel that a lot of the way some of my life was handled and lived led to me kind of having a bit of a downfall, just because I was so overworked and I wasn’t dedicating enough time to my mental health or my personal life.”

3. Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez now stars in a sucessful show

Probably many of us had merchandise of “Wizards of Waverly Place” at some point right? She had opened up about her work as a Disney kid back in 2015 and spoke about how weird it was that she had to be still managed by her parents even when she was in a relationship. She had to pretend she was a good girl.

She added, “I knew deep down that this wasn’t what I wanted to do. Being exhausted … forcing something that wasn’t right, even in my personal life. I had to have moments where I was crying and I was like, ‘Why am I not in love with what I do?’ I was forced to get very uncomfortable for a while in order to make the decisions I made.”

4. Jake Paul

He was the more recent part of Disney. He starred in Bizaardvark which had Olivia Rodrigo too. Jake however left the show during its second season. He revealed that the pay was way too low and he makes more through his Youtube channel.

5. Miley Cyrus

Playing Hannah affected Miley Cyrus’ mental health

Everyone’s favorite Hannah Montana actress Miley Cyrus actually made some shocking revelations about Disney throughout the years.

Back in 2015, she said that being in the show had a huge impact on her mental health. She said, “I was told for so long what a girl is supposed to be from being on [Hannah Montana]. I was made to look like someone that I wasn’t, which probably caused some body dysmorphia because I had been made pretty every day for so long, and then when I wasn’t on that show, it was like, ‘Who the f***k am I?'”

Then in a podcast in 2019, she said, “I didn’t really get to be a kid very much, because I worked so much, but I wanted that,” she explained. “Since the last record, my last record was called ‘Younger Now’ and it says, even though it’s not who I am, I’m not afraid of who I used to be. That was my epiphany”
