Alec Baldwin’s Wife Desperately Tries to Clear Husband’s Name From Involuntary Manslaughter With Tone-Deaf Message
On Thursday, it was announced that actor Alec Baldwin will be charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter over the fatal shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The cinematographer died in October 2021 after the actor’s prop gun fired a live round. Baldwin’s lawyer has claimed that the actor “relied on the professionals with whom he worked,” who assured him “the gun did not have live rounds.”
Just a day after the announcement, the actor’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin, has shown empathy as she wore a sweatshirt that said “Empathy” in all caps. She has shown support in the past as well claiming that the couple is “not okay” and claimed that it was “a tragedy that nobody could ever have imagined.”

In October 2021, a tragedy took place on the sets of Joel Souza’s Rust that shook the entire industry. Actor Alec Baldwin‘s prop gun fired a live round which ended up hitting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in the chest, ultimately killing Hutchins. The live round also injured the movie’s director, Joel Souza.
Now, more than a year after the incident took place, prosecutors have announced that Alec Baldwin will be charged with involuntary manslaughter as enough evidence has been compiled to file criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the Rust film crew.

The actor’s lawyers have claimed that the charges are “a terrible miscarriage of justice“
The actor has decided to defend himself and his lawyers have claimed that he “had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun — or anywhere on the movie set” and the actor “relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds.”
Along with Baldwin, the movie’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, who was responsible for the weaponry on the set, will also be charged with involuntary manslaughter. Recently, the actor and the family cinematographer reached an undisclosed settlement. Hutchins’ widower, Matthew Hutchins, revealed that the agreement states he will be an executive producer of the movie and will receive a portion of the profits.

One day after it was announced that the actor will be held accountable, Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin decided to step out wearing a sweatshirt that said “Empathy” in all caps. It is clear that she is trying to send out a message amid her husband’s drama.
In the past, the actor and his wife, both expressed remorse about the whole situation. The actor revealed in an Instagram post that he “may never be the same” and that his “heart has been broken a thousand times this past year.” He has claimed that he was not responsible for the cinematographer’s death and even insisted he did not pull the trigger.
Rust was all set to resume its filming this month. The release date is yet to be announced.
