Amber Heard Is Removed From Aquaman 2 Poster and DC FanDome
Amidst the high-profile lawsuit case between Amer Heard and ex-husband Johnny Depp, a new report via a Hollywood insider suggests that Amber Heard was instructed by Warner Bros. to not appear on DC FanDome, thanks to her ongoing legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp.
The actress was later removed from the promotion of the Aquaman sequel and was even removed from the promotional poster.
Kathryn Arnold Has Spilled The Beans On Amber Heard
Kathryn Arnold, who is an entertainment industry consultant, also testified in Depp’s defamation trial against Heard, reporting that Heard was eventually removed from the promotional events for Aquaman 2.
“Heard wasn’t invited to appear on the poster or at the [DC FanDome] event and in fact they said she can’t come,” Arnold said.
Jason Momoa and James Wan Took Heard’s Side
Arnold also revealed that due to the whole commotion on social media, there was an actual effort by DC to cut Amber Heard’s entire participation in Aquaman 2. However, the film’s lead, Jason Momoa, and director James Wan struggled to keep her part in the film.
“[Amber Heard’s] management team struggled a lot and they [DC] ended up keeping her. Not just because of what management has done, but also because star Jason Momoa and director James Wan have committed to it,” said Kathryn Arnold.
When will Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Release?
Earlier, an online petition to cut Amber Heard from Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom went on to garner more than four million signatures.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was slated to be released on December 15 this year, however, now the film’s premiere is scheduled for March 17th, 2023. In the second solo outing for the aquatic hero, Aquaman must forge a quick alliance with an unlikely character to protect Atlantis and the whole world from irreversible devastation.
Directed by James Wan, actor Jason Momoa is set to play the titular role. Alongside him, Amber Heard plays Mera, while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will resume with the role of the formidable villain Black Manta.
The Depp-Heard Defamation Trial
Heard has repeatedly denied allegations that he defecated in Depp’s bed. “This is absolutely disgusting. I can’t imagine which adult would do that,” Heard revealed while present in a hearing with the British Supreme Court back in 2020.
Apart from being cut from Pirates of the Caribbean 6, Depp was then dropped from the Fantastic Beasts sequel, where he was eventually replaced by actor Mads Mikkelsen.
