Despite stating she’s “re-evaluating” her future with Balenciaga, it appears Kim Kardashian has given up on the fashion house, as she discarded clothing she planned to wear to upcoming events and refused its 2023 deal which was almost set to go before the BDSM ad scandal.

The fashion house offered Kim Kardashian the opportunity to work on Balenciaga’s 2023 campaign before the contentious kid BDSM ads went public and started getting backlashes. After seeing the disturbing advertisement, the 42-year-old reality star allegedly declined the offer before publicly stating the matter. She decided to ditch the outfits she was set to wear in the 2023 events.

As a mother of four children and an influencer, she was disturbed by the Balenciaga advertisement showing children holding teddy bears in bondage gear. The reality star eventually wants to keep her children safe in this predatory industry.

Kim Kardashian Reportedly Turned Down The Balenciaga Deal

TMZ reported that the brand approached Kim Kardashian before the controversial advertisement photos emerged, but she declined it soon after the backlash began, even before releasing a statement on the issue. According to the outlet, having abandoned Balenciaga’s outfits for upcoming events, the reality star has already approached other designers for alternative options.

Kardashian tweeted on Monday,

“I have been quiet for the past few days, not because I haven’t been disgusted and outraged by the recent Balenciaga campaigns, but because I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team to understand for myself how this could have happened,” Kardashian tweeted on Monday.

“As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard, and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period.”

After several campaigns and runway appearances for Balenciaga, The Kardashians star announced she would “re-evaluate” her relationship with the fashion house; however, it seems now she is planning to cut her ties with them.

She has been dealing with a lot lately as a mother of four kids. Whether it’s about the safety of her kids or securing their future, she is fighting legal and professional battles to give them a better life and setting a clean record to keep her children safe in a predatory industry. The reality star settled her divorce with ex-husband Kanye West earlier this week, and she will receive $200k per month from West in child support with joint custody.

A Controversial Balenciaga’s Campaign Featuring BDSM Bears With Kids

Luxury fashion house Balenciaga apologized after the public outrage as advertisements showed children holding teddy bears in bondage gear and using child sexual abuse laws as props. The fashion house took responsibility for “several grievous errors” regarding the now-withdrawn campaigns, which have prompted furious criticism online and a $25m lawsuit against the team behind one of them.

In its latest apology on Instagram, Balenciaga said,

“We strongly condemn child abuse; it was never our intent to include it in our narrative… Balenciaga reiterates its sincere apologies for the offense we have caused.”

Kim Kardashian also tweeted after the removal of the advertisement,

“I appreciate Balenciaga’s removal of the campaigns and apology. In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measures for this never to happen again.”

There have been reports that Kim K has no intentions of working with the brand in the future, even though she appreciated their apology and their responsibility for accepting the mistake in the first place. However, many people still wonder why the brand has yet to be canceled, and celebrities have been criticized for not speaking out against the brand’s actions.
