Batman comics have kept the readers entertained for decades and so have the movies and shows that came after the comics. Then when Tim Burton brought back Batman on the big screens in 1989, the film was a massive hit and even proved to be an inspiration for other films that followed.

Batman’s legacy has been going on for so many years and many actors have been a part of the character’s journey. It’s sad that not all are with us but we will there still celebrate their life and roles. Here are some actors from Batman who have passed away and not many of us know about it!

1. Vincent Schiavelli

The actor appeared in Batman’s return and was one of the members of Penguin’s circus gang. Fans remember him for his appearance and he haunted many fans’ dreams. He had Marfan syndrome as a child. He was also a chef and a writer. He passed away in December 2005 due to Lung cancer.

2. Michael Gough

This actor got a chance to play Bruce Wayne’s most loyal friend and a father figure aka Alfred alongside not one but 3 different Batmen. He starred along with George Clooney, Val Kilmer, and Michael Keaton.

He was born in 1919 and appeared in many films. He also lent his voice in Corpse Bride and Alice in Wonderland (2010) and starred in Sleepy Hollow as well. He passed away in 2011.

3. Larry Holden

The actor appeared in Batman Begins where he played the district attorney of Gotham aka Carl Finch. Apart from Batman, the actor had also appeared in Nolan’s other early films like Memento and Insomnia. He died at the young age of 49 due to cancer in 2011.

4. Cesar Romero

He played the iconic role of Joker and appeared in 20 episodes of Batman and in a 1966’s film as well. He didn’t even have to shave off his mustache while portraying the villain. He passed away in 1994.

The actor played Commissioner Gordon and was a constant in every episode of “Batman”. He had a great career before he took up this role as well. But he didn’t star in many projects post-Batman and passed away in 1984.
