Beetlejuice 2 director Tim Burton previously stated that he would make a movie under the right conditions, and Warner Bros. has come aboard to produce the new project. “It’s something that I really would like to do in the right circumstances, but it’s one of those films where it has to be right. It’s not the kind of movie that cries out for a sequel; it’s not the Beetlejuice trilogy. So, it’s something that if the elements are right—because I do love the character, and Michael’s amazing as that character, so yeah, we’ll see. But there’s nothing concrete yet.”

The plot of Beetlejuice 2 revolves around a recently deceased couple who was troubled by a family who moved into their home. The couple then contacts Beetlejuice, the main character, the tortuous ghost who haunts them. The original movie stars Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice and Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, and it also starred Alec Baldwin, Jeffrey Jones, Geena Davis, and Catherine O’Hara.

The gothic horror received positive reviews from the audience and reportedly earned around $80 million at the box office, while the film budget was around $15 million. The film has remained a classic among its fans, and the sequel is moving forward with its production.
