Before Having A Family Mark Wahlberg Had No Intentions Of Living After The Age Of 35
Mark Wahlberg is an A-list Hollywood actor, who has appeared in numerous movies in his career spanning almost three decades since his film debut in 1993. He is quite known for his one-of-a-kind diet plan that once made headlines due to its severity.
There was a time when Mark Wahlberg believed that he wouldn’t even live till 35 years of age. It has to be noted that he changed his lifestyle so that he could increase his longevity, and spend more time with his family. His dedication to staying fit even at the age of 52 is truly remarkable.
Mark Wahlberg Didn’t Think He Will Make It To 35 Years of Age
Mark Wahlberg has not shied away from admitting that he is much different from his younger self. This change is also reflected in his career as he began playing more varied roles after he crossed the 30-year-old mark. However, it seems like he is especially appreciative of his mid-30s as he once spoke to BBC about it.
While promoting his movie Shooter in 2007, the Transformers actor told BBC:
“I’ve just changed. For a while I never thought I’d make 35, but now that I have I’m enjoying life a lot more and I want to make 45 and 55. I’d also love to see my kids grow up. But I do feel like I’ve finally kind of hit my stride. My confidence is higher because I’ve worked with great people.”
Wahlberg went on to say that he was lucky to have gotten the chance to learn from the best and also that he did not think that he had ever taken more pressure than he could handle. He insisted that giving his best to his work had always been rewarding as he was thrilled to see what he had achieved. He believed that his younger self had a rather fast lifestyle that would have made it harder for him to cross 35 years of age.
Mark Wahlberg Doesn’t Mind Being An Older Actor
Aging is a natural phenomenon that cannot be avoided by any means so embracing it is the best one can do. Mark Wahlberg seems to be doing exactly that. Growing older is not taken very well in show business but the Lone Survivor actor does not mind being an older actor.
Wahlberg once expressed his views on being an older actor on the Backstage podcast (via Yahoo). He said:
“I’ve embraced it. I was that guy and I had wonderful actors – with Denzel [Washington] and Jack Nicholson and Robert Duvall and Jimmy Caan and Dustin Hoffman and Bill Paxton – I mean, the list goes on and on and on for me, and those are guys that I looked up to and I wanted to learn from, and they knew that right away.”
Mark Wahlberg‘s approach to life is very distinct and applaudable. He has only grown better with each passing year. He has also managed to strike a balance between his work and his beloved family. He is proud to be a veteran actor and hopes to guide young actors.
