As per reports, the actor almost starred in the Oscar-nominated film, Brokeback Mountain which ended up with Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal being on the lead roles. This film garnered major attention back in the day unfolding the beautiful story of two boys.
Ben Affleck Almost Starred With Matt Damon for a Romantic-Drama Film!
The 50-year-old actor, Ben Affleck has been a longtime friend of Matt Damon. The duo has continued to stay as great friends ever since they were kids. The duo is known for a great bromance which might have taken a different angle on-screen had the duo starred in the 2005 film, Brokeback Mountain.
The former was initially meant to play the role of Ennis Del Mar while his bestie would star opposite him by portraying the role of Jack Twist. As per MovieWeb, this film was previously decided to be directed by Gus Van Sant who had eyes on the duo to be cast as the main lead in the film. Due to some unavoidable circumstances, the director was changed with Ang Lee taking the lead for the project.
As the helmer changed, the initial cast also got altered with Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal selected by Lee to be his lead actors. The LGBTQ+ movie received universal acclaim and became a commercial success, grossing over $178 million worldwide. While fans did not get to see the duo in this project, they have worked on several films including the hit film Good Will Hunting (1997) which gave them a significant boost in Hollywood.

Affleck directed this new film, Air with his friend, Damon who has participated as a producer through their newly-formed production company Artists Equity.
This film will feature the duo as actors too with others being Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans, Chris Messina, Chris Tucker, and Viola Davis.
This film is based on true events in which Batman stars strike a business deal with Michael Jordan. The film has already garnered positive reviews from the critics which has once again proved the duo’s partnership is lucrative to them.
