Jennifer Lopez’s new venture has surprised fans. On April 4, 2023, the 53-year-old actress launched her Lower-Calorie Alcohol brand called Delola. Lopez shared a video on Instagram introducing the world to her alcohol brand. Netizens’ reactions to JLO’s new endeavor have been mixed. Fans couldn’t stop wondering how Lopez came up with the idea for an alcohol line while persuading her husband Ben Affleck to stop smoking and drinking.
Many labeled the Live It Up singer a hypocrite for launching an alcohol line while instructing her husband to stay sober for the couple to stay together.

Ben Affleck gave up drinking to marry Jennifer Lopez
Before tying the knot to Ben Affleck on 16 July 2022, Jennifer Lopez had a set of conditions that Affleck agreed to and one of them was he will have to quit drinking. Affleck’s struggle with alcoholism isn’t new to the world. Lopez knew that one of the reasons why Jennifer Garner decided to part ways with Affleck was because of his smoking and alcohol addiction.
At the beginning of 2023, Lopez was spotted taking a sip from Affleck’s drink to make sure it isn’t Alcohol. This incident happened at the afterparty of Lopez’s film Shotgun. The video went viral on social media as Affleck was seen upset in the video as she took a sip from his glass. Affleck said, “I didn’t drink anything.” while she took a sip from his glass. The video from this party is once again being shared after the singer released her alcohol line.

Lopez has named her Alcohol line Delola. Lola is Lopez’s nickname as she also mentioned how her husband’s and her zodiac sign are also an inspiration for the name. While talking about why she wanted to introduce an alcohol line, JLO said,
“I love to entertain. I love throwing parties at my house. I’m always the first one on the dance floor at all of the industry events and at times, on vacation, dancing on the table. That is kind of who Lola is.”
The Parker actress also talked about how she came up with this name and how she finally decided to name her alcohol line Delola. Lopez said,
“I’m a Leo. On the actual bottle, I put two lions Ben and I are both Leos like a male and a female lion,”
Lopez also mentioned that she is an occasional drinker so she wanted the taste of her drink to be the best. Lopez explained that Delola is a healthy drink plus it is also gluten-free. The Shall we dance actress said, “Jenny from the Block meets the Italian coast.” Affleck has not yet given any statement on his wife’s new venture.
