Ben Affleck’s Return as Marvel Superhero in Deadpool 3 Reportedly a Hoax, DCU Star Not Switching to MCU
Ben Affleck made headlines in June with a rumor about his return to Deadpool 3 after being spotted on the sets of the Marvel Studios. Later, through some tweets, an entertainment industry insider tried to spread the rumor about Affleck, too, but later clarified it to be just a joke.
Affleck has been an important part of the DCEU for a long time. From Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to his roles in Suicide Squad, Justice League, and his latest appearance in The Flash, Affleck won the audience’s hearts. He was never a part of the MCU. And even though there’s been confirmation about multiversal madness inclusion with MCU’s upcoming project, the speculation about Affleck is reportedly a hoax.
Ben Affleck in Deadpool 3– A Hoax or Truth?
As per recent reports from industry insider Daniel Richtman, Ben Affleck is not switching to the MCU. He will not be showing up as the Man Without Fear. It has been confirmed that the Good Will Hunting star will not be reprising his role in the third installment of Deadpool.
To see Affleck return as Daredevil was always unlikely as the actor didn’t look back to his time as the vigilante of Hell’s Kitchen with much fondness. However, he did always have a sense of humor regarding it. So, a humorous cameo couldn’t have been put out of the question.
Just like the news about Affleck, reports on Jennifer Garner as Elektra’s involvement in Deadpool 3 only added fuel to the fire. Even though Affleck might not appear as Murdock, reports suggest a lot of the other cameos that are already lined up, like a few X-Men’s characters, including Jean Grey, Storm, and Cyclops. It is even possible to see Taylor Kitsch and Channing Tatum’s cameo as different Gambit variants.
Is Deadpool 3 Similar to DCEU’s The Flash?
Seems like, yes, Deadpool 3 is going to be very similar to The Flash in terms of including the multiverse elements. Ryan Reynold’s character Wade Wilson and Logan’s Wolverine will be seen dropping into different alternate timelines and realities.
As for the other roles, including Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa, Karan Soni’s Dopinder, Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Shioli Kutsuna’s Yukio, Rob Delaney’s Peter, and Leslie Uggam’s Blind AI, are all expected to return as the respective character. There will also be some newcomers, including Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen, in roles that still remain under wraps.

The plot details currently might be a mystery, but Wolvie and Wade, the two characters, are expected to be trapped within the MCU. With all that’s expected to come with Deadpool 3, fans believe the MCU debut of Wade will be way more integral in Phase 5 and even beyond what people realized. Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool 3, will not leave any chance to bring out the best.
Deadpool 3 is expected to hit the theatres on September 6, 2024.
