“Ben and I are both Leos”: Jennifer Lopez Defended Alcohol Brand as Her Love for Ben Affleck Amidst Actor’s Struggles With Drinking

According to the latest reports, the musical icon launched her lower-calorie alcohol label Delola Spritzes in April, inspired by her Bronx roots (a borough of New York City). The Maid in Manhattan actress made the big announcement of her new brand via an Instagram post.
Jennifer Lopez Launched Her New Alcohol Label
The Latin pop culture icon began her professional career in 1991 as a Fly Girl dancer on the television series In Living Color. Jennifer Lopez has two beautiful children with her former husband, Marc Anthony. The actress is currently married to Hollywood legend Ben Affleck.
Lopez and Affleck often make public appearances together in their ready-to-kill outfits, and recently they graced the red carpet for J.Lo’s newly released films premiere. Lopez is enjoying 2023, and the year is proving to be incredible for her career as she is involved with some of the most talked-about projects in showbiz.

The On the Floor hitmaker took to her social media and announced the news of her latest venture in April 2023. She shared the promo video of her new alcohol line Delola Spritzes, a lower-calorie cocktail, on Instagram. Alongside the clip, she wrote:
“The secret is out!!! I’m proud to share with you @DELOLA My new collection of unique, mixology-level, ready-to-enjoy spritzes. More is #OnTheJLo. Let’s live the #DelolaLife together.”
In an interview, Jennifer Lopez spoke with People magazine and discussed her inspiration for the product and how it fits well with her uber-rich lifestyle. The actress talked about her alcohol brand Delola,
“I think as I’ve kind of gotten to be less of a workaholic and enjoy life a little bit more…it was something that I really, really wanted to do.”
However, many might not be aware of this that “Lola” is Jennifer Lopez’s nickname among her close friends. The singer continued,
“I love to entertain. I love throwing parties at my house. I’m always the first one on the dance floor at all of the industry events and, at times, on vacation, dancing on the table. That is kind of who Lola is. Delola means “from Lola” in Spanish, so the way we came up with the name for Delola was really about being the carefree, fun side of who I am.”
Jennifer Lopez further revealed that she engraved two lions on the bottle of her new alcohol brand in honor of her husband, Ben Affleck’s zodiac sign. Lopez explained,
“I’m a Leo. On the actual bottle, I put two lions — Ben and I are both Leos — like a male and a female lion. It’s very personalized, really authentic to me and what I love.”
The singer continued,
“I’m not a huge alcohol whatever-alcohol drinker, so it needed to be something that was really pleasant tasting. I loved the idea of creating something a little more healthy, a little bit more to my taste with kind of healthier ingredients and being gluten-free.”
The Mother, starring Jennifer Lopez, is now streaming on Netflix.
A Brief Note on Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s Relationship
J.Lo and Ben Affleck have a rich history. The couple first met on the sets of their shared movie Gigli in 2001, and their undeniable chemistry brought them closer. At the time, Lopez was finalizing her divorce from her second husband, Cris Judd. Soon after her divorce from Judd in 2003, Affleck and Lopez went public with their relationship.
