As the film is celebrating its milestone at the box office, Shapiro has been mocked online for his awful prediction.
Ben Shapiro gets mocked for his failed Barbie prediction
Barbie is making waves after crossing the $1 billion mark, and with that, Ben Shapiro is in the spotlight for his failed prediction of Greta Gerwig’s film. The conservative political conservator posted a YouTube video last month following the release of Barbie, predicting the movie would “absolutely fall off a cliff.”
The 39-year-old uploaded a 43-minute tirade to YouTube with the hopes of inciting large-scale protests against the PG-13 film, starring Margot Robbie. In the video, he is also seen burning Barbie toys before launching into a slew of complaints about the film. Shapiro said,
“Week one this thing is going to clean up at the domestic box office. My prediction: it’s going to just absolutely fall off a cliff after that.”
He further added,
“The repeat business on this movie is going to be non-existent because it was written by two people who are so smug and self-satisfied in Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, that they have no audience.”
As Barbie crossed $1 billion at the worldwide box office, becoming the first film solely directed by a woman to hit the milestone, fans mocked the American columnist for his failed prediction. A user reshared the 39-year-old’s Barbie prediction clip on Twitter and wrote, “Contender for worst prediction of the year, courtesy of @benshapiro.”

The failed prediction of Barbie has led Ben Shapiro to hide his face and stay away from the spotlight as fans are calling him out.
Barbie Dominates the Box Office
Pink magic has demonstrated its strength. Margot Robbie’s latest film has grabbed the box office by storm and outperformed the films of the two greatest directors of all time. The film has amassed an incredible box office collection. Barbie, directed by the talented Greta Gerwig, has reached an extraordinary milestone, crossing the coveted $1 billion mark at the box office.
It has suppressed Oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan and Mission Impossible 7, starring Tom Cruise. Barbie is the second highest-grossing movie of 2023 behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
In the United States, Barbie grossed $155 million in its first weekend. The film created history by having the industry’s largest opening weekend for a female director. Barbie continues to break barriers and exceed expectations, leaving an indelible mark in cinematic history.
