The sitcom, The Big Bang Theory, which debuted in 2007 and ran for 12 seasons, actually did make a splash. It attracted millions of fans. The series finale aired more than three years ago. With the popularity of the show, the writers had to bring out new storylines to keep the fans interested. While many stories captured the audience and few didn’t, the creator Steve Molaro had a major regret about a particular storyline.

Season 4 came to a real big bang finish, it saw Penny and Raj walk out of bed together. Molaro instantly regretted the scene as he felt that it was a bit excessive and, that the scene didn’t fit the characters or the characters’ development throughout the series.
Once the season came to an end, Chuck Lorre came up with the idea to shake things up.

Molaro said, “I spent the entire hiatus being upset about it… I went upstairs to [Lorre’s] office right when we got back to work [on Season 5].”

He added, “This is really bothering me. I think I have a way that we can… get out of it and preserve the characters as they are.”

Lorre knew it was important for the creator to clean up the mistake. So he came up with the solution, showing nothing had happened between to two, due to Raj’s over-excitement.

Kunal Nayyar as Raj

Actor Kunal Nayyar took on the role of Raj Koothrappali in the hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which ran for 12 seasons in total. Nayyar played the role of an Indian boy who had a condition where he can’t talk to women while in a sober state.

Not only creators but some actors don’t feel great about certain storylines. Nayyar too was uninterested in several of his storylines. One of them was his unwillingness to engage in conversation with ladies. It turns out the character was based on a real person who was also the author’s close friend.

But the actor was frustrated when he couldn’t participate in some parts. When there were girls in a scene, the actor found it annoying that he would just have to stand about for extended periods without speaking. Although things changed for him, and fans were able to see his character develop by the end of the show.

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
