The 50-year-old actress, Cameron Diaz has kicked off her acting journey once again with Jamie Foxx in their new Netflix project, Back in Action. They were supposed to film two massive stunts along with an explosion at East London’s Royal Docks last month however it got canceled after an unexploded World War Two bomb was found on set.

A source told The Sun,

“The production expected the scene to go off with a bang — but nobody could have predicted it would all be derailed by a bomb.”

They continued that the stunt was due last month at the dock.

“A 24-metre barrier was being erected into the river, where the explosion would take place.”

However, when the team was constructing the set for their shoot, staff encountered what they believed to be a dormant bomb in the water. That hindrance ended up costing them a large budget.

Due to safety concerns, the staff spoke with police and relevant authorities to inform about the same. The source informed that the part of the river “is never normally disturbed, so it’s been left as it is.”

While safety was their prime concern, the stunts being canceled took a major toll on the movie’s budget. The outlet’s movie insider shared,

“The cancellation was a massive blow to the film, which has already experienced a few issues.” They continued, “After the two stunts were canned, they were filmed on green screen at Longcross Studios in Surrey.”

Due to the green screen involvement, the stunts cost “a huge amount of money and was a massive headache for everyone involved.”

While the problem has now been solved, it has faced several issues, especially involving Diaz’s co-star, Jamie Foxx. It was he who persuaded the actress to join him in the film since their last project, Annie was her last film before her retirement.
