Box Office Decimation: Rachel Zegler’s Hunger Games Prequel Beats Brie Larson’s The Marvels With Half Their Budget as MCU Slowly Dies
Rachel Zegler’s The Hunger Games prequel despite having a significantly lower budget than The Marvels has outperformed it. Brie Larson’s movie isn’t generating enough excitement in the Marvel fans as the MCU is gradually failing to resonate with its enthusiasts.
The successful Hunger Games franchise is back with a thrilling prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes which has impressively crossed $197 million at the worldwide box office over a budget of just $100 million, while The Marvels has been crawling since its release and has crossed $187 million worldwide over a budget of more than $270 million.
The Hunger Games Prequel Outperformed The Marvels at The Box Office
Seems like the superhero enthusiasts haven’t been excited lately after witnessing Brie Larson‘s The Marvels starring other two actors Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau. Larson’s movie received criticism over failing to impress fans with its comedy after the director Nia DaCosta revealed she wanted to make The Marvels a fun movie, and crossing just $187 million at the worldwide box office isn’t enough for this movie which had a budget more than $270 million.

However, if we look at the worldwide box office collection for Rachel Zegler‘s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, it has incredibly surpassed its $100 million budget and has made $197 million so far. This clarifies that the prequel like its other previous films has successfully impressed the viewers and fans with its storyline which is set 64 years prior when Jennifer Lawrence’s resilient Katniss Everdeen blessed the games with her presence. The 2012 Hunger Games movie began the surge of young adult fiction fans and since then it has been growing. While this prequel is filled with thrill, stronger performances, and intensity, it also revolves around Snow and Lucy’s relationship which grows wiser after arriving at District 12 and racing against time to eventually disclose who’s a songbird and who’s a snake.
