The seven-time F1 champion Hamilton, who is teaming up with one of the finest actors in the generation, Pitt, for a racing feature, said that he is going to make sure that the movie is diverse and make the sport look how it is supposed to look.
The F1 racer was asked if he had any desire to be on-screen, to which he said, “No, not really, I don’t really have any desire to be in front of the camera, but there may be an element in it where maybe I’ll slot in and play a small cameo, but at the moment that’s not the plan.”
Hamilton continued, “I’m more enjoying the part in the background, making sure that I’m really talking to Joe about who we’re hiring, making sure that it’s diverse, making sure that the sport looks how it’s supposed to look in the future, in terms of being more accessible.”
He continued by saying that he is actively participating in the casting of the film because he is given access to all of the audition videos and gets to make casting decisions. Hamilton claimed that watching Leonardo Di Caprio’s most recent movie had inspired him, and he hopes to enter the film he is currently working on at the prestigious festival.
