Britney Spears Nearly Conquered Hollywood With Tom Cruise Before $117M Romantic Drama Went to Ryan Gosling Instead
Everyone who has watched the famous rom-com movie staring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in The Notebook adored the chemistry between the stars. But before casting them as leading characters in the movie there were a plethora of other stars in Hollywood who were considered for the role. Surprisingly Britney Spears and Tom Cruise made it to the list as director Nick Cassavetes wanted to take the stars in the movie and cast them as Allie and Noah.
Tom Cruise and Britney Spears were almost cast in The Notebook
The Notebook movie director took a risk by casting Gosling and McAdams, who were not well-known at the time. Because the actors were not household names in Hollywood, so the movie didn’t do well at the box office. Fortunately, Cassavetes took a chance by casting the two instead of any big celebrity.
The director revealed his decision to cast Ryan Gosling and shared,
“When I told New Line Cinema I wanted to hire Ryan for the lead, they kind of looked at me like I was out of my mind.”
He continued,
“We found Rachel through an audition process and she was wonderful. A lot of studios wouldn’t have had the courage to put two relatively unknown people in a movie like this. But they did and, gosh, weren’t they terrific.”
According to E Online, Steven Spielberg was interested in directing the film. He had a vision for adapting author Nicholas Sparks’ novel Sparks into a film.
Britney Spears Requests Fans Not To Call The Cops
In January Britney Spears alarmed her fans when she deleted her Instagram account. After her followers found out about the news, they began to cook up various theories and express worry for her safety, even calling the cops to check on her. Amidst the drama, Britney returns to her Twitter account to address the alleged incident by explaining why she’s been less active these days and confirming that she is doing fine.
Although she has deleted her Instagram before, the singer has previously taken down her social media accounts a number of times to look after her mental health. The singer was allegedly irritated by the surprise visit, according to an insider who talked to TMZ, due to which she told her followers that she was perfectly fine and they didn’t have to worry about her well-being.
She also displayed a second white strapless dress with fringe details in a recent Instagram video. She said,
“So, guys, just so you know, if I ever shut down my Instagram, don’t call the cops.”
The Toxic singer referred to a January incident in which she apparently deactivated her Instagram account, and the police were reportedly summoned to her house for a wellness check. She ended her video by saying,
“Don’t ever be a rollercoaster.”
In a previous statement, Britney Spears said that she was enjoying the start of the new year by making homemade lasagna for the first time and turning on the fireplace in her living room.
Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams both supported Spears for the role. According to The Notebook co-stars, the pop star would have been perfect for the role.
