Amber Heard Fans Initiate Online Protest against Cannes Film Festival For Choosing Johnny Depp’s Movie

Thierry Frémaux, the director of the Cannes Film Festival, has been facing lots of grilling for his choice of Johnny Depp’s movie Jeanne Du Barry for the festival’s premiere. Now supporters of the Aquaman actress, have started an online protest against Cannes for their decision, with hashtag #CannesNotYou. The choice was justified by Cannes authorities on the basis that they see Johnny Depp as an actor and his movie as a work of art and thus the choice was made.

Amber Heard’s journalist friend, Eva Barlow even posted on her social media that, “Cannes seem proud of their history supporting rapists and abusers,”. The #CannesNotYou is being promoted on all the pro-Heard social media accounts and the campaign is aimed at calling out the Cannes Film Festival for “celebrating abusers for 76 years.”
