In a Mother’s Day tribute, the Guardians of the Galaxy star drew fire from social media users for failing to specifically mention his ex-wife Anna Faris, with whom he shares a 10-year-old son named Jack. On May 14, the celebrity took to social media to celebrate Mother’s Day by wishing all mothers a happy day. He specifically thanked his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, mother-in-law Maria Shriver, and mother Kathy Pratt.

Chris Pratt Left Anna Faris Out Of His Mother’s Day Shout-Out
After thanking his own mother for “such love and light and laughter” over the years, the 43-year-old actor addressed Maria Shriver as “Mama G.”
Chris Pratt, who is also the father of Lyla and Eloise from his relationship with Katherine Schwarzenegger, said in the caption, “Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there.” “Today I’m really appreciative of Katherine. You make a great partner. I have such a fortunate life thanks to you. You are the best stepmother to Jack, and our two kids are very fortunate to have you,” the actor added.
“All of the other moms in my life,” he acknowledged in his final paragraph, “I’m so grateful for all you do- thank you so much,” he continued. “I hope today makes you feel honored.”
Pratt, who has a 10-year-old son named Jack with his ex-wife Anna Faris, received criticism from some social media users for failing to mention her in his Mother’s Day post.
“That was a very nice recognition of the mothers in your life, wife, mom, mom-in-law. However, it would not have killed you to acknowledge the mother of your first child by name,” one commented.
Another commented, “I literally wished my ex’s wife a Happy Mother’s Day today. Like why wouldn’t you if you have kids in a blended family?”
Another asked, “And your other baby mama?”
Other social media users, on the other hand, backed the Avengers: Endgame star, claiming that there was nothing wrong with his message. Others noted that Pratt mentioned “all of the other moms” in his life, including Faris, in a paragraph of his post.
“He literally said Happy Mother’s Day to ALL of the mothers out there. That includes his ex. Everyone calm down,” one wrote along with a tears of joy emoji.
Another pointed out that the House Bunny star “never made a Father’s Day post about him after they broke up either” and called the outrage a “double standard.”
This wasn’t the first time Pratt’s Instagram pictures have generated discussion online. When the Parks and Recreation alum thanked Schwarzenegger for giving him a “gorgeous healthy daughter” in a love letter in 2021, some people believed he was being cruel to Anna Faris, who gave birth to Jack prematurely.

After eight years of marriage, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced their separation, shocking Hollywood. The chemistry between the two actors seemed to be uncanny. But their separation in December 2017 and subsequent divorce in October 2018 put an end to their fairy-tale romance.

After Faris gave birth to their son, the couple appeared to be the epitome of a content family. Even more, she shared a photo of her husband and Jack together along with the caption “My main men.”
They both have successfully maintained their strong relationship despite the divorce. Faris instantly posted her congratulations on Instagram in response to Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger’s social media posts announcing their nuptials.
“Sweet Chris, my ex, got engaged to Katherine today, and I’m so pleased for them,” Anna remarked on her show. “I adore both her and him, so I knew it would happen. I’m so overjoyed that they connected.”
Since then, Faris has remarried to cinematographer Michael Barrett. In 2021, the couple got married secretly in a Washington State courthouse.
