Oppenheimer Star Cillian Murphy On His Decade Long Bond With Christopher Nolan
The bond between the Oppenheimer director and actor duo needs no description in Hollywood. Christopher Nolan’s admiration for one of his favorite actors is very well highlighted in the cameos performed by Cillian Murphy. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Dunkirk star spoke about his relationship with the legendary director. He said-
“I’d always show up for Chris, even if it was walking in the background of his next movie holding a surfboard Though… not sure what kind of Chris Nolan movie that would be. But I always hoped I could play a lead in a Chris Nolan movie. What actor wouldn’t want to do that?”
While talking about his first mainstream role and watching himself play the main protagonist in Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy said-
“I am, yeah. I don’t like watching myself – it’s like, ‘Oh, fucking hell’ – but it’s an extraordinary piece of work. Very provocative and powerful. It feels sometimes like a biopic, sometimes like a thriller, sometimes like a horror. It’s going to knock people out. What [Nolan] does with film, it fucks you up a little bit.”
