So, here’s a list of comedy movies that deserved sequels, but never got one. Check it out!

As the name suggests, the movie is about Brennan and Dale (played by Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly respectively) who end up being stepbrothers after their single parents get married. The movie is full of funny moments that involve these two man-child characters fighting each other in the cutest manner. The journey of Brennan and Dale is nothing less than a rollercoaster ride. Right after you finish the movie, you’d want to watch a sequel. The makers were in talks of one, but nothing fruitful came out of it!

2. Bridesmaids (2011)

Comedy Movie: Bridesmaids

This is one of the comedy movies that proved anybody can do comedy. Agree or not, comedy is often confined to male characters. But the movie Bridesmaids put forward a female comedic character who along with other characters gave wonderful performances. The movie is about Annie Walker (perfectly played by Kristen Wiig). Annie is a middle-aged single woman who is struggling in her personal life but was approached by her best friend to be the Maid of Honor at her wedding. Obviously, she couldn’t say no. However, funny events take place during the wedding when Annie gets into a fight with one of the bridesmaids! The movie was a hit and everybody thought a sequel would follow. But no real talk has happened until now.

3. Office Space (1999)

If you’re someone who is into the genre of dark comedy, this is one movie you’ll enjoy for sure! Don’t go at the numbers it achieved at the box office. Even though it flopped, the movie has managed to become a cult film. The movie is about Peter (played by Ron Livingston) who works as a software engineer. However, he is too frustrated with his job. So, he decides to plant a virus in the company’s system. Oh, wait! That’s not it. Peter doesn’t plan to do this alone. He ends up taking two of his friends’ help. Have you ever worked in an office/job and hated it? Then you will instantly relate to Peter.

The ’90s was surely an era that gave us awesome movies (most of which are considered classics). This movie is one such example of a ’90s product! Bill Murray does his magic in the movie (as usual!). It is about Phil (played by Bill Murray, no points for guessing) who is a self-centered man. Being a weatherman, he goes to the town of Punxsutawney for an assignment. Here comes the twist. When he wakes up the next morning, he realizes that he is reliving the same day over and over again! Some of you would say that what’s the need for a sequel? The original is enough. But some fans expected a sequel to follow. We believe, this is a perfect comedy, forever!

5. Superbad (2007)

Movie: Superbad
Comedy Movie: Superbad

Superbad became a hit when it was released theatrically. However, it wasn’t expected. So, it came as a shock to a few. Moreover, with time, the popularity of the movie has grown enormously. The plot of the movie is basic and relatable. It is about Seth and Evan (played by Jonah Hill and Michael Cera respectively), two teenagers who want to have fun and enjoy their lives before they part ways to go to different colleges. Unfortunately, they end up being in trouble because of their vices. Superbad is now considered an iconic comedy movie and without a doubt, we all thought it’ll get a sequel. But we see nothing, but darkness!

6. C (2004)

Movie: Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
Comedy Movie: Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

Take a jar. Add comedy and sports in it, and mix well. What do you get? Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. The movie was a hit and received positive reviews from fans and critics alike. It follows the story of a group of misfits who try to save their local gym from the widemouthed corporate fitness chain by participating in the Las Vegas dodgeball tournament. Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Christine Taylor, and Justin Long give wonderful performances that will make you re-watch the movie. The movie has the ability to hold up even after almost a decade-plus. Fans thought a sequel will follow in the future. But we’re in 2022 now, and nothing has come up!
