Conan O’Brien Botches Up Sir Ian McKellen’s X-Men Franchise, Embarrasses Himself With “Most Boring” Pitch
In the recent episode of Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, on YouTube, with Sona Movsesian and Matt Gourley, O’Brien pitched a hilarious story idea for the X-Men film.
A confessed X-Men illiterate, O’Brien ideated his version of the film franchise but made a minor mistake. The comedian mistakenly referred to the character Cyclops’ shades as a helmet, which led to a hilarious response from the likes of Gourley and Movsesian.
He was talking about his radio show on Sirius XM, and the topic transitioned to Cyclops’s superpowers as O’Brien referred to the superhero while assuming Eudardo’s reaction to his upcoming radio show.
The two ended up calling O’Brien a nerd due to his misguided reference to Ian McKellen and James Marsden’s characters in the film. The comedian added

Conan suggests that the makers of the X-Men should try something different. While referring to Cyclops, he added, they should “do things occasionally where can’t find Magneto and they go into the kitchen and then he gets stuck to the refrigerator and his legs kicking.” Conan continued that he loved the idea that Cyclops tries to “do something cool,” then gets stuck to the fridge and someone just “put a to-do list on him.”
Listening to O’Brien’s pitch, Sona tells him that “if you wrote an X-Men movie, it would be the most boring movie.”
‘Magneto’ is a character from the X-Men film played by Ian McKellen, who holds the power to manipulate magnetic objects. While ‘Cyclops,’ played by James Marsden, can cause “an optic blast” by emitting beams of energy from his eye.
