Denis Villeneuve-led Dune: Part Two is the current talk of the tinsel town. The fantasy drama has left behind Morgan Freeman’s The Shawshank Redemption on IMDb. The critically acclaimed crime drama has been ruling the top spot on IMDb for a long time. The second chapter of Dune has an IMDb rating of 10 out of 10, whereas Tim Robbins’ The Shawshank Redemption scores around 9.3 out of 10 on the leading rating platform.

Dune: Part Two has created a record on Rotten Tomatoes too. Based on the reviews, Timothee Chalamet’s upcoming project has scored 97% out of 100. Looking at the eye-popping craze around Dune: Part Two, it is expected to break the box office record of the 2021 released Dune Chapter One.

Dune: Part Two is based on the second half of Frank Herbert’s novel released in 1965. The stellar cast of Dune: Part Two includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Christopher Walken, Javier Bardem, and Dave Bautista. The second chapter includes Austin Butler and Oppenheimer star Florence Pugh on board.

Denis Villeneuve Reacts To Christopher Nolan’s Comment On Dune: Part Two

Denis Villeneuve is on cloud nine after Dune: Part Two was praised by the Inception filmmaker Christopher Nolan. The Arrival director reacted to Nolan’s comparison between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Dune: Part Two. He mentioned that he would have never dared to compare Dune: Part Two with the iconic intergalactic franchise. As reported by Games Radar, he said-

 “It’s a comparison that I would have never dared to do myself. I think it’s a beautiful compliment because Empire Strikes Back is by far my favorite Star Wars movie. So, it’s like, coming from Chris [Nolan], an incredible compliment.”

Christopher Nolan’s comment mentioned-

“For me, I don’t think it says too much to say that if Dune: Part One was Star Wars, this to me is very much The Empire Strikes Back, which is my favorite of the Star Wars films. I just think it’s an incredibly exciting expansion of all of the things you introduce in the first one.”

As Dune: Part Two is gradually inching towards its theatrical release in March, Denis Villeneuve provided a major update on the third chapter of the fantasy drama. The French Canadian filmmaker revealed that he has already completed the screenplay of Dune: Messiah. 

Dune: Part Two will be released on March 1, 2024.
