Despite being one of the most successful movie franchises of all time, Marvel Cinematic Universe has been dealing with numerous issues with its movies and production.

Things worsened after the Hollywood strikes took place, but one notable aspect where Marvel slays despite the backlash and failure it has made, is the fantasy genre. In recent times fantasy movies other than Marvel’s have failed to excite fans and are considered lame. The coolness of Marvel’s projects acts as an upper hand for the franchise.

One Thing Marvel Still Dominates Despite The Challenges

As Loki 2 brought immense commendation from fans, The Marvels failed to earn fans’ love. However, despite all the consequences the franchise has been handling, it still holds one aspect strongly. Marvel has incorporated coolness in its fantasy stories which works as an incredible trick for the franchise to earn positive reactions. And this is what other movies that claimed to be interesting lost because they failed the concept of adding coolness to the storylines.

A perfect example of how Marvel incorporated coolness can be witnessed in Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. It’s been decades since the character was introduced in the MCU and still holds a special place in fans’ hearts. Reason? nothing magical but the excellence of Marvel in making engaging characters. However, there exist incredibly lauded fantasy movies like Stardust, The Shape of Water, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and many other notable projects.

But one factor that has diminished the craze for today’s modern fantasy movies is the lack of thrill in them. This failure leads them to be considered lame despite the cast or other exciting factors they might have. So, Marvel still has some lessons to teach despite the challenges.

One Major Challenge Related To Marvel’s Superheroes

Since the MCU introduced the original superheroes to the enthusiasts, they have been playing a crucial role in the franchise’s success. The superhero world has been incredibly adapted with compelling storylines, but one major issue that does not sit well with the fans is the original characters dying or retiring. This concern has made the MCU’s future look even more grimmer than before.

Phase three of MCU saw Chris Evans‘ beloved Captain America retiring and other notable departures of Downey Jr’s Iron Man’s end have led to significant changes in the universe. However, it’s safe today as the upcoming projects like Avengers: Secret Wars and others have en announced it’s quite evident that the MCU will continue to expand with or without the original superheroes.

With new characters and approaches that Marvel will opt for in the future, it will likely put the franchise at risk which can yield both: desirable and unexpected failure for the projects. However, as the most anticipated Secret Wars is on the way, fans’ expectations are high after the recent reception of Marvel’s movies.
