Did Mark Consuelos Just Troll Ryan Seacrest for Abandoning Kelly Ripa’s ‘Live’: “Some people would die to have this opportunity”
If you didn’t know, the Kingdom actor will soon begin hosting the morning show with his wife in the spring. Actor Mark Consuelos and television personality, Kelly Ripa have been together for more than 25 years.
They have been married for many years, making it one of the few long-lasting unions in the industry. Now that Consuelos has taken Ryan Seacrest’s place as host of ABC’s Live!, they are not only life partners, but also co-workers; and so far, they have produced excellent work.
The two have never broken up despite having ups and downs as any relationships do. The power couple opened up in their most recent interview with PEOPLE for this week’s cover story. They shared how they felt about embarking on a new chapter in their lives.
Being joined at that desk daily by her husband left Ripa feeling incredibly overwhelmed. Additionally, it appeared like the American Family actor made some criticisms of the previous Live host.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on Co-Hosting Live
It will be “a complete full circle moment” for the real-life married couple when Mark Consuelos will occupy that coveted chair next to Kelly Ripa as co-host of the newly renamed Live With Kelly and Mark on April 17.
Ripa discussed her feelings in this week’s cover story for PEOPLE, saying that they have been so uniquely blessed. “To have Mark join me at that desk every day, it’s a dream come true.”
What does the pairing mean for the satirical and upbeat program? She laughed as she said, “It’s going to be off the rails!”
Consuelos, who Ripa first noticed when she spotted his smokin’ hot headshot nearly 30 years ago, couldn’t stop expressing his opinions and said, “It’s indescribable [and] we’re super, super grateful.”
Asked about the time in 1994 when the casting director for All My Children presented her with a photo of Consuelos, a budding, then 24-year-old actor up for a role opposite Ripa, she said, “I’m a very practical person, but there was something about him. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s my person. This is my husband. My future hubs.’ I just knew it.”
The two fell in love instantly while filming All My Children, and over 28 years, they created a family (they have three children together), as well as thriving individual careers.
Did Mark Consuelos Just Troll Ryan Seacrest For Leaving His Wife’s Live?
Mark Consuelos is eager to participate in the action; almost 22 years after Kelly Ripa started co-hosting Live and contributed to making it the top-rated daytime talk show. After being separated for extended periods due to work over the past ten years, the power couple’s collaboration on Live provides a great opportunity for them to get together and hang out.
The Riverdale alum, who guest-hosted around 92 times during his wife’s reign before taking over for Ryan Seacrest, said Kelly Ripa “had a blast every single time I filled in. Some people would die to have this opportunity. No one does it as she does… I can’t think of anybody that I feel safer with, and protected by, than Kelly.”
Was Consuelos trolling Ryan Seacrest for leaving his wife’s Live with those remarks? It may be a reasonable assumption, though.
For the unheard, the show will be renamed Live with Kelly and Mark, and Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, who has often appeared as a guest host, will join his wife as an official co-host on Monday, April 17.
