The fifth installment of the action comedy franchise, Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was released in 2017 and since then there has been no update on the upcoming installments. According to the speculations, Johnny Depp has been replaced by one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood.

During an interview with the reputed media platform, Los Angeles Times writer Craig Mazin confirmed about the sixth chapter of Pirates Of The Caribbean. He mentioned that Disney had already given a green signal to Pirates Of The Caribbean 6 way before the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes came into existence. He said-

 “We pitched it and thought there’s no way they’re buying it, it’s too weird. And they did! And then he [Ted Elliot] wrote a fantastic script and the strike happened and everyone’s waiting around.”

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer even squashed the rumors about the upcoming installment being canceled. He said-

“I think that that script will come forward at a certain point. We developed two different stories for Pirates and the other one’s going forward first, so that’s what we’re working on, to try to get that one made,” 

According to the recent developments on the sixth installment of Pirates Of The Caribbean, Disney is looking forward to a reboot with a new face. Reportedly, Barbie star Margot Robbie would be replacing Johnny Depp as the lead in the lead in the billion-dollar franchise.

Actor Orlando Bloom On His Rapport With His Co-star Johnny Depp

During an interview with the famous media outlet BBC, Orlando Bloom spoke about his co-star Johnny Deep. The Lord Of The Rings actor revealed that the 60-year-old actor is one of his heroes. He said-

“It was the most fun I’ve ever had. I had the chance to work with one of my heroes, Johnny Depp, and to see how he works, which was really inspiring for me at this stage in my career.”

The actor duo came together for the 2003 release first installment of the franchise, Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

During an interview with the Los Angeles Times, producer Jerry Bruckheimer spoke about bringing Johnny Depp back to the franchise. He said-

“We’re still working on it. Nothing’s definitive yet, but we continue to take little baby steps getting towards a screenplay,”

During his defamation lawsuit trial in 2022, the actor himself mentioned that he had no interest in reprising his role as Jack Sparrow in the upcoming franchise installments.
