In an interview with W Magazine, Gosling was asked if he was going to perform at the 96th Annual Academy Awards. To this, he said,

“Well, I haven’t been invited. And I wasn’t thinking about it until now, and now it’s all I‘m going to think about. Do you get paid to sing at the Oscars? Do you have to drive yourself? What kind of scratch is involved? They pick you up at least, right?”

The Canadian actor is one of the most phenomenal actors in the industry. But when it came to playing Ken, it seemed as if the audience forgot that he was good at what he did. The actor faced criticism after the trailer was released with fans stating that he was ‘too old’ to play the iconic toy character.

Ryan Gosling in his profile for GQ addresses the criticism and said,

“I would say, you know, if people don’t want to play with my Ken, there are many other Kens to play with. It’s funny, this kind of clutching-your-pearls idea of like #notmyken. Like you ever thought about Ken before this?”
