Loved his presence, promos, in ring work and connection with the WWE Universe. A very unique, cool and rare character, which is hard to create in our crazy world of pro wrestling. Still processing losing the goat, Terry Funk yesterday and now Bray today. My love, light, strength & mana to the Rotunda family and Funk family during this tough, heartbreaking time. “

Bray Wyatt on making his comeback at WWE Royal Rumble 2023

The pro wrestler was shockingly released in July 2021 but returned in October 2022 for promotions and appeared on Royal Rumble 2023 in a match against LA King, which he won.

During an interview with Fox Sports’ Ryan Stain which is now considered as his last interview, Wyatt mentioned about his return to the ring, “There’s a certain reluctance that there hasn’t been in the past. It’s part of any athlete, when you’re away from something so long, there’s something in the back of your head that’s like, ‘Am I still ‘it’? Am I still what I should be?’”

He added that as weeks progressed, he really started to kind of come into his own again and start to remember why he does what he does and how much it means to him to be out there and perform. The wrestler further added at the time,

“During my time away, I had opportunities to do really cool things, and I just couldn’t because I felt broken. There was something that was just shut off and I didn’t understand why. It was literally people telling me, and just keeping me alive and dragging me back, telling me, ‘You should still do this. We miss you.’” He noted that he didn’t feel that way initially, but he felt damaged, and it was that that gave him the strength to build back out and explode.

We send our condolences to the family.
