Dwayne Johnson Can Never Lose in a Fight? The Rock’s Secret Clause in His Movies Doesn’t Allow Any of His Co-stars Beat Him in a Fight
Dwayne Johnson, an actor and former professional wrestler, made his film debut in 2001 with The Mummy Returns. Since then, he has gone on to play some of cinema’s most recognizable roles and build a devoted fan base. Johnson, who goes by the stage moniker The Rock and is one of the highest-paid performers in the business, has worked on some of the highest-grossing films thanks to his perseverance and dedication to his profession over the years.
In 2004, Dwayne Johnson left WWE (then known as the WWF), but he later came back in 2011 to perform on occasion till 2013. The actor is really happy with how his career transitioned from being one of the greatest professional wrestlers to now being one of the most gifted actors in the business. He is considered as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. Johnson’s movie contract does, however, have a covert no-lose provision. Let’s know more.
Dwayne Johnson makes sure to have a ‘no lose’ clause
According to reports by The Mirror, Dwayne Johnson, who is popularly known to be part of movie franchises including Fast & Furious, Jumanji, and more, makes sure to add a ‘no lose’ clause in his movie contracts while signing a project. This is done so that the actor who has an Alpha male personality can maintain that even on-screen. The no-lose contract also means that the audience cannot see Johnson beaten by anyone on-screen.
The reports further noted that the Red Notice star had his legal team make sure to add the terms and conditions to ensure that if he ever gets in a physical quarrel with any of the characters/actors on-screen, he’d always win and put a limit on how badly he can take up the beating in the movie.
It was also reported via The Mirror that the actor takes an extra effort to collaborate and have open conversations with producers, editors, and fight coordinators to make sure that he always has the good parts. Dwayne Johnson’s act of adding a no-lose clause in his movie contract comes after his co-stars Vin Diesel and Jason Statham, who are also known to keep a look at how many punches they can take in a physical quarrel in the movie.
Both Diesel and Statham are known to have set up a limit on how many punches the other actor is allowed to make at them when filming, along with how it plays out on-screen. Johnson had allegedly changed the script of Fast and Furious to ensure that after a physical fight with a character he was left sitting up instead of lying down and seemingly less hurt.

Dwayne Johnson addresses the Maui Donation backlash
The Maui fires shook the world and Dwayne Johnson and Oprah Winfrey announced a fund to support the people who had been affected by the deadly fires, but what they had not anticipated was the backlash their fund would receive after they launched the People’s Fund of Maui in August with $5 million.
They shared a video on their social media asking people to donate to the ones in Maui, which received backlash from the people and Winfrey shared with CBS via Vanity Fair,
“We thought, because both of us have given to charities our whole lives, that starting the fund with $10 million would be a great idea. We’ll do what Dolly did. We hoped to get other people to give money and then we’ll put it directly into people’s bank accounts.”
(Country singer, Dolly Parton backed My People Fund back in 2017 to support those suffering losses in Gatlinburg, Tenn.’s 2017 fires.)
The fans complained that they were already living paycheck-to-paycheck, adding that the uber-rich celebrities should donate more money towards relief efforts rather than asking the ones who are surviving at the edge. Johnson shared a video on his social media clarifying the backlash as he stated via Vanity Fair,
“When we first launched the fund, there was some backlash. I get it and I completely understand, and I could’ve been better. And next time I will be better. I understand money ain’t falling out of the sky, and it’s not growing on trees, and there’s a lot of people out there who are living paycheck to paycheck. And I get it, and I know what that’s like.”
The actor noted that the last thing someone wants to hear is someone else asking for money when they are living paycheck-to-paycheck. Dwayne Johnson explained in the video that he understands the backlash, pointing out that he has never launched a fund before but he is quick to study and now he has learned his lesson. He added that he is grateful and appreciates the transparency his social media provides concerning absorbing feedback from followers.
