Emilia Clarke Gives Marvel Fans New Hope After Her Surprising Death in ‘Secret Invasion’

The HBO series Game of Thrones was a fan favorite and gave many characters for the fans to love and adore. Among them was Emilia Clarke, who rose to fame due to her portrayal of the mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen. The actress received nominations for four Primetime Emmy Awards due to Game of Thrones. 

After being part of two popular franchises, Solo: A Star Wars Story and Terminator Genisys, Clarke finally made her MCU debut. She entered the billion-dollar franchise through Secret Invasion. The Me Before You actress plays Gi’ah, the daughter of Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos in the series. The third episode of the series shocked fans as they saw Emilia Clarke’s character die. But the actress recently gave fans some hope for her return to Secret Invasion.

Emilia Clarke hints at her return to Secret Invasion

Emilia Clarke recently returned to television after Game of Thrones filming was over in 2018. She made her comeback on TV by being part of the biggest franchise. Clarke made her debut in Marvel, where she plays a pivotal character in Secret Invasion. The actress portrays Gi’ah, Talos’ daughter in the Disney+ series.

The new episode of the series dropped on Wednesday, shocking the 36-year-old’s fans. The third episode, titled Betrayed, saw Clarke’s character G’iah seemingly shot and killed by the rebel Skrull leader, Gravik. Her passing was unexpected and disappointing. 

However, Marvel is known for bringing in the twist to surprise fans, and the same goes for the Me Before You actress. While reacting to the latest episode, the actress looked puzzled and commented, “That was quick.” Later glancing at the camera, she raised her eyebrows and said, “Maybe too quick.”

Although the last episode saw the Game of Thrones actress’s death, fans have every reason to believe she will return to the series. The most obvious is that moments with the actress that have yet to be shown in the series were included in the trailer.

However, how the resurrection will take place is still in question. Marvel could go with the theory that there is another MCU character who resembles Emilia Clarke because every Skrull resembles a human appearance. The return of Clarke on Secret Invasion after her death will be an interesting part to watch for the fans.

Emilia Clarke’s Role in Secret Invasion 

When Emilia Clarke announced being part of MCU, fans speculated she will play S.W.O.R.D. leader Abigail Brand. However, the 36-year-old actress took the role of a Skrull named G’iah in Secret Invasion.

G’iah is a radical Skrull who is believed to have a strong opinion on the lack of growth and improvement in humans helping their species after leaving their homeland. She is the daughter of Talos. G’iah is committed to assisting her fellow Skrulls, and she isn’t afraid to take action against anyone who won’t cooperate.

The plot of the series revolves around a faction of the Skrull, alien exiles who desire to replace humans and dominate the Earth who have been stranded on Earth since the events of 2019’s Captain Marvel. After patiently waiting for Nick Fury to fulfill his promise to find the Skrull a new home for thirty years, the Skrulls are ready to take matters into their own hands.
