English Singer Morrissey Claims Miley Cyrus Trying to Ruin His $60M Music Career, Demands She Be “Taken Off” His Song ‘I am Veronica’ Despite 2 Year Commitment
The festive season doesn’t seem so joyful for the singer-songwriter, Morrissey, as he continues to drop one bombshell after another. The singer has been the subject of headlines for a while after he walked out of one of his shows in November. He did not provide any reason for his behavior and canceled a number of upcoming shows claiming that someone in his band is facing some health issues.
Morrissey also said that the health of members is the priority for now and the canceled shows will be rescheduled for the next year. The English singer has once again become the talk of the town as he announced his volunteer departure from Capitol Records.
Morrissey Parted Ways With Capitol Records
Starting from December 23, Morrissey shared a number of updates on his website. Firstly he shared that he has parted ways with his music label, Capitol Records, and his management company. Calling it a “Roll on 2023” the singer shared in a message on his website that he has voluntarily left the music label and has split from his management company.
“Morrissey has voluntarily parted company with Maverick/Quest management. Morrissey has also voluntarily withdrawn from any association with Capitol Records (Los Angeles).”
In October 2022 the English singer signed up with Capitol Records for the release of his fourteenth album. His next album Bonfire Of Teenagers was expected to release in February 2023. However, there was no confirmation about the album’s release in the UK.
Morrissey Calls Miley Cyrus a Punk Rocker
On 24 December, Morrissey shared another update on his website. He shared a picture with Miley Cyrus with the title saying, “Miley Is a Punk Rocker.” He further shared that the American singer has demanded to be taken off of his song, ‘I Am Veronica.’
The message also mentioned that Cyrus “volunteered backing vocals” for the song almost two years ago. It further said, “This comes at a time when Morrissey has disassociated himself with Capitol Records (Los Angeles), who control the hidden album ‘Bonfire of Teenagers’.”
Earlier, Morrissey revealed that the label has put his next album on hold and that its fate is “exclusively in the hands of Capitol Records (Los Angeles).” Morrissey has released his 2014 album, ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business’ under Capitol Records. Soon after the release of the album, Capitol Records ended its deal with the singer.
