“Ezra is well now, We’re all hoping that they get better”: ‘The Flash’ Director Hopeful For Ezra Miller’s Recovery After Concerning Health Situation
Ezra Miller is widely known for his role as Flash in the DCEU. The actor rose to fame with his role in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower in 2012. The American actor has been associated with movies like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad, Justice League. He became popular for the portrayal of Flash in the DC.
The actor’s personal life is not as great as his professional one. Controversies always end up finding him. The Trainwreck actor’s career is overshadowed by the list of public controversies. The non-binary actor who uses they/them as pronouns, was arrested for disorderly conduct and assault charges. He went on to apologize publicly through a public statement. Ezra Miller is going through medical treatment for his complicated mental health condition.
Sibling Directors Provide An Update On Ezra Miller’s Health
During the premiere of The Flash at the Cinema Con, the director siblings producer Barbara Muschietti, and director Andy Muschietti provided an update on the Need To Talk About Kevin actor’s mental health. The director duo addressed Ezra Miller’s controversy in a Q&A session after the premiere of The Flash. On being asked how the actor is doing, director Andy Muschietti responded-
“Ezra is well now. We’re all hoping that they get better… They’re taking the steps to recovery.” He said. “They’re dealing with mental health issues, but they’re well. We talked to them not too long ago, and they’re very committed to getting better.”
Producer Barabara Muschietti praised the actor’s commitment to the role. She added-
“And, I have to say, during our shoot, during principal photography, their commitment to the role was something we’ve never seen,” She said. “And the discipline to the work, the willingness — physical, mental, and just wanting to go beyond the pale — is just amazing.”
Ezra Miller had also shared in a statement with the media outlet People, through his representative, that mentioned-
“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” the actor said. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life.”
The DC actor’s statement came out when Warner Bros was looking for his replacement for The Flash due to the legal mess he was in.
Ezra Miller Earns Praises At Cinema Con
The first grand premiere of The Flash was held at CinemCon in Las Vegas. The much-awaited DC movie of 2023 stars big names like Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton too. According to the reactions of the critics and movie exhibitors, it is going to be one of the best superhero movies of DCEU.
According to Tim Richards, the Vue Cinemas head-
“I absolutely loved it. It’s got heart, it’s got soul. You care about the characters. It’s going to be big. It’s great to see the whole Warner Bros. slate including comedies, horror, and DC. Everything that our audiences are desperate for.”
The movie has elevated the hopes of Warner Bros and some critics even went on to say that “It’s one of the best DC films ever made.”
Director Andy Muschietti was all praises for the actor who is currently seeking medical help for his complex mental health condition. He said-
“One of the best actors I’ve ever worked with. Every tool in the toolkit… [Miller] is an incredible comedian, and [has] all the action required for a big spectacle like this.”
However, Ezra Miller’s co-stars Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton have never spoken about their experience of working with the Afterschool actor. The Argo actor claimed that he is extremely proud of himself that he could finally do Batman.
The Flash is set to be released on June 16, 2023.
