Luke Skywalker appears in The Mandalorian, appearing as youthful as Mark Hamill did in the 1980s, thanks to a combination of vintage footage, CGI, and a stand-in. Nonetheless, if the script calls for a feature-length appearance of a Luke-led TV spinoff in the future, some fans have claimed that he would most likely need to be replaced. Many of those fans have recommended Sebastian Stan, a fan favorite who bears more than a passing resemblance to a young Hamill, as a possible replacement. And, while Stan isn’t one of the individuals pushing for him to obtain the job, he won’t say no at this early stage. During his press tour for Pam and Tommy, a new miniseries in which he portrays Tommy Lee opposite Lily James as Pamela Anderson, the subject came up. Stan is clearly impressed by the concept, even after years of addressing the question.

Stan told Esquire about the fan response he received for playing Mark Hamill:

“Look at however nice it’s. Never, ever say ne’er, “Stan told Esquire regarding the fan love he receives. “Mark Hamill is my father, and he is aware of it, and each Christmas I phone him to inform him, “Just needed you to understand I am around.” It’s quite scary. “This is not the first time Stan has named the topic. In an Associate in Nursing interview, he was insincere about auditioning for the duty, and through a press tour, he was explicit that he needed to portray the character. Still, he admits that it is a massive task to fill such shoes, and “you don’t wish to f—k up that persona.” While waiting for word of farewell America to promote the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Hamill expressed his support for the actor.

Sebastian is a fantastic actor, according to Hamill, and fans should support him in his role as the young Luke Skywalker:

“He’s a fantastic actor,” Hamill added. “‘Will you support him as the young Luke Skywalker when they do those movies?’ people ask. And I thought to myself, “He doesn’t need me.” He’s a good enough actor to get by on his own. And I shouldn’t put my thumb on the scale since I have no control over it. It’s Disney and Lucasfilm, and I don’t want to rule out any other Lukes. But I’d love to collaborate with him. I’d take the role of his father any day. ” Luke Skywalker first appeared at the conclusion of The Mandalorian’s second season, and he reappeared in today’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett. On Disney+, new episodes of that series are released on Wednesdays.
