“The only Kang I want”: Fans Demand Courts Clear Jonathan Majors as MCU Star Goes to Trial on Assault, Misdemeanor Charges
Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in Lovecraft Country and as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, goes on trial today on misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment stemming from a domestic dispute last March. If convicted, the actor faces up to a year in prison along with damage to his flourishing career.
Will the evidence support Jonathan Majors’ innocence?
According to Deadline, the charges relate to an altercation between Jonathan Majors and his then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in the back of a car service in New York City. According to prosecutors, officers called to the scene by Majors himself found Jabbari with injuries including bruises, swelling, cuts, and a broken finger.
Majors’ attorney argues he was the actual victim that night. The defense claims Jabbari grew violent because she believed another woman was texting Majors in the car. Citing text messages and security footage, they describe escalating abuse by Jabbari against Jonathan Majors.
The actor even filed a cross-complaint with police, alleging it was Jabbari who initiated the violence against him. However, prosecutors declined to charge her after she turned herself in last October.
In a previous court filing, prosecutors referenced an unnamed incident in London in September 2022, which led to a police report. Majors was there filming his role in season two of Loki. It’s unclear whether this or other allegations will be allowed as evidence under New York law.

So far, the case has only brought professional hardship for Jonathan Majors. He was dropped by his management company and publicist after the arrest. Disney removed his film Magazine Dreams from their release calendar, despite growing Oscar buzz for his performance.
