Hugh Jackman has been enjoying star status for decades now and it all began with the role that he is best known for. He portrayed that role for so long that his name landed in the Guinness Book of World Records for portraying a live-action Marvel character for the longest time.

Jackman had announced that he was retiring from the character in 2017. However, he changed his mind when an opportunity to reunite on the screens with one of his best friends presented itself. That said, when fans found out about another lesser-known project that the actor had starred in, they could not contain their shock and even began doubting his taste in roles.

There is no doubt that show business is to Hugh Jackman what water is to life. Early on, he did not think of acting as a profession. However, once he realized that this was what he wanted to do for a living, there was no going back. The fact that he had made the right decision was established when he landed a job in an Australian drama right after graduating from acting school.

As the years went by, Jackman starred in numerous Australian movies and TV shows and even won hearts with his performances in Broadway musicals in his native country. In 2000, he was cast as Wolverine, and the rest, as they say, is history. However, fans discovered a part of this history that is not as shining as the rest.

Four years after his first appearance as Wolverine, Jackman starred in a short film titled Making The Grade (via YouTube), written and directed by Corey Smith. In the video in question, the actor is seen in the role of a young hot teacher named Mr. Slattery. Two students, Bernadette and Chelsea, of a class that Mr. Slattery teaches are head over heels for him.

One of the scenes in the film sees Bernadette daydreaming about her complimenting her teacher’s tie, as they end up kissing. The plot twist in the story comes when Chelsea pulls a move after their final exams to stay back for another year in his class.

Fans’ reactions after watching this movie are rather hilarious as they express their surprise about the fact that Jackman even starred in it.

wtf is this from? its like SUPER low budget… wonder why hugh was in it?

I have no words!

The beginning it’s almost p**n

This feels like 2005 p**n intro

How did you get Hugh in that

By the looks of it, this might have been a student film and Jackman was only trying to help them out despite his star status. Even so, it is quite surprising that he chose to work on this script. Interestingly, long before he achieved fame as Wolverine, he was actually a P.E. teacher at Uppingham School in England way back in 1987 (via Business Insider).

The Greatest Showman star revealed this part of his past himself during his red-carpet appearance at the Zurich Film Festival in 2013. At the event, he ran into one of his former students, Rollo Ross, who has long graduated and become an entertainment reporter. Jackman did not hesitate in admitting his past at all, while Ross looked rather embarrassed.
