Gal Gadot opens up about being diagnosed with a massive blood clot during pregnancy
Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot, who is a mother to a 9-month-old daughter, Ori, decided to open up about a medical condition she was diagnosed with during her eighth month of pregnancy. Gadot took to her social media to share that she was diagnosed with a massive blood clot. She explained further,
The actress detailed that she was immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, during which she also gave birth to her daughter. As 2024 comes to an end, Gadot, like everyone else, reflects back on the challenges and achievements she’s had, writing that this year had one of the profound challenges and deep reflections for her.
Gadot noted that she had wrestled with the idea of sharing such a deep and personal story with her fans, but ultimately, she let her heart decide that for her. She mentioned that writing about what she went through at the time is probably one way she processes everything.
The actress added that one of the reasons why she thought to share about her health diagnosis was to pull back the curtain on the fragile reality behind the curated moments people see on social media. She wrote that she hopes that by sharing her health scare, she can raise awareness and support others who may face something similar.

Gadot who is married to film producer Jaron Varsano shared that her daughter’s name ‘Ori’ means ‘my light’ adding that it wasn’t picked by chance. She further wrote on her social media post,
The actress did not forget to thank the extraordinary team of doctors at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles. She also urged people to listen to their bodies, adding that pain, discomfort, or even subtle changes often carry a deeper meaning, and being attuned to the body can be lifesaving.
Gal Gadot described that 3 out of 100,000 pregnant women in the 30+ age group are diagnosed with CVT (blood clot in the brain).
Gal Gadot, who is the mother to four kids, Alma, Maya, Daniella, and Ori, mentioned that her opening up about the diagnosis is not to scare anyone but to empower them. She wishes and hopes that after reading about what she went through, people would at least start paying attention to their bodies and take necessary precautions whenever needed.
Gadot lastly mentioned that she is now fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life she’s been given back; thus, she wants to share it with her fans. She shared in a follow-up comment that her daughter Ori is a constant reminder of the resilience, hope, and strength she carries within.
