George Clooney Refused to Date Sandra Bullock for a Honorable Reason Despite Their Extremely Close Relationship

Sandra Bullock talks about having a deep friendship with George Clooney
Sandra Bullock and George Clooney have been friends for almost two decades, even before they started working in the industry where they are now considered as established people with the nicest personalities and aura.
In 2018, Bullock shared with a publication, “George and I have known each other since long before we actually had jobs in this business, literally out of college. We’ve seen each other through many facets and stages of life, and this is just another one of those facets and stages. And the nice thing is, we still like each other at the end of it, we still admire each other.”
George Clooney, who is now married to Amal Clooney, always had nice and positive things to talk about Bullock. During an interview, he said, “Sandy is exactly what she appears on-screen, an incredibly charming woman who’s really just fun to hang out with. Very smart and centered, even though she does drink a lot.”
Sandra Bullock describes George Clooney as her ‘unofficial wingman’
The actress explained that in addition to being her closest friend, George Clooney is also her unofficial wingman, as he helped her to have a relationship with someone she liked but was not confident enough to talk to.
During an interview with Access Hollywood, she explained she wanted to have the attention of a guy she would have liked to be her boyfriend at the time. She noted, “When I came out after I spent time with George, George went to him and said, ‘If you don’t marry her, I will. George is not gonna marry anybody except for Amal. He had been waiting 30 years to do that.”
Bullock pointed out but that was sort of the thing that sort of got him to just hang with her, the boyfriend. “So we were together for four years after that, thanks to George,” she concluded.
Sandra Bullock also mentioned in another interview, “My son thinks he’s a very cool dude. If there was a choice between me, George and Alfonso Cuaron, my son would leave me to be with George and these guys. He’s a boy’s boy, so he has to go talk to the men.”

George Clooney honored ‘bro code’ over dating Sandra Bullock
At the premiere of Gravity in 2013, the actor was also asked about his equation with the actress in addition to why the two of them never dated, to which he said, “She was dating one of my best friends. There’s a certain bro code, you know what I mean?”
Bullock, however, said that even if Clooney decided to break the bro code, she did not have any interest in dating the actor because they have known each other for such a long time that the sexy game between two people who would end up seeing each other is gone. She did clarify that George Clooney is very handsome but she knows him too well.
Bullock appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2013 when she was asked if the two actors ever thought of dating each other, since they are already pretty close to which she said,
“We go way back—so far back that we’ve now started to take years off how long it’s been. I think we’re probably the only two that haven’t dated in the business.” On asking why haven’t they, the Bird Box actress said that it could be because they are a little too similar in all the disturbing ways.
