The Spiral Heat Ray was seen in movies like Godzilla vs. Destroyah and Godzilla: Final Wars. If the King of Skull Island encounters this ability, it will be a definite game over. Here’s how.
Set for a May 2021 release date, Godzilla and Kong will be sharing the screen one more time. The first time they both came together to feature in a movie was about half a century ago. It was in the 1962 Toho crossover film – King Kong vs. Godzilla. Kong got a major size upgrade in the 1962 movie to be on par with Godzilla. This time as well in Godzilla vs. Kong, Kong is about to get a size boost. Fans claim that the size upgrade will not make much of a difference. Godzilla still has the edge and Kong is still the underdog in the upcoming conflict.
Godzilla is already the New Alpha of the Titans after the events of Godzilla: King Of The Monsters. He has a lot of power at his disposal. He can swim underwater and at extremely high velocities. He has the ability to absorb radiation and use it to boost his healing factor. There’s also his Atomic Breath and his Atomic Pulse. There is one major ability of Godzilla‘s that has not been seen since the Heisei Godzilla series. The Spiral Heat Ray is an upgraded version of Godzilla’s Atomic Breath, his trademark move. In the movies, Godzilla has used both the blue and red spiral heat rays, with the red one being the most potent one.
The amount of heat energy each Spiral Heat Ray packs is enough to term it as a weapon of mass destruction. Godzilla has used it sparingly and only against threats he deemed to be his gravest foes. The Blue Spiral Heat Ray which is the weaker one, was able to take out one of Ghidorah’s heads. Godzilla gained the red Spiral Heat Ray ability after absorbing Rodan’s essence. He used it to defeat Space Godzilla, arguably the strongest enemy of Godzilla. This was also the power that defeated Destroyah.
In the 1962 King Kong vs. Godzilla movie, Godzilla’s Atomic Breath proved to be devastating for Kong. Since Kong did not have long range attacks of his own, he was badly injured by Godzilla’s Atomic Breath. Imagine an ability that trumps even Atomic Breath. Godzilla of the MonsterVerse is yet to demonstrate the Red Spiral Heat Ray power. And if or when he does, the fight will be obviously over in an instant. Kong would not even be able to hold his own against Godzilla for more than a minute. Just pray the Studio does not favor the King of the Monsters on this one.
