Grant Gustin Manages to Honor Both Carl Weathers and the Flash in 1 Move
Grant Gustin made sure he honored Carl Weathers and paid tribute to The Flash in the same post on his social media. The man had been the frontrunner of the CW’s most popular DC show, The Flash, which ran successfully for nine seasons.
Even though The Flash TV series is not on air anymore, the Arrowverse had a special moment on February 3, 2024, that allowed Grant Gustin to pay tribute to the show as well as the Rocky star Carl Weathers, who unfortunately passed away on February 1, 2024.
Grant Gustin Celebrates Unique Arrowverse Event And Manages To Honor Carl Weathers And The Flash In The Same Post
Many might be wondering what is so important about February 3, 2024. Well, for hardcore The Flash fans, it is just a walk down memory lane. In 2017’s S03E19, The Once and Future Flash, Barry Allen heads to the future in an effort to get to know Salvator’s identity. However, when he finally gets to the future, he finds everything in disarray. Cisco seems to have suffered a major loss at the hands of Killer Frost, who is now at Iron Heights. Wally has a shattered spine and Joe is sinking into depression.
Grant Gustin’s Barry himself is a social recluse who works at S.T.A.R. Labs alone. Lord have mercy, as Barry is able to get the troops together and find a lead before he heads back in the end. Why such a long tale, one might ask? Well, February 3, 2024, was the exact day Barry leaped into the future and Grant Gustin had neither forgotten it himself nor was he letting the fans forget it.
Gustin posted a video (via. @HeroesUnbound on X) where he is seen holding the newspaper of the day, which had the news of Carl Weathers passing away on the front page, and a voiceover from that specific episode played, which said, “2024, I made it.” It was truly a memorable journey for both Grant Gustin and the long-standing Flash fans.
Grant Gustin Reveals He Was Never Asked For A Cameo In The Flash Movie
Grant Gustin portrayed the Scarlet Speedstar for nine successful seasons in the CW’s arguably most successful show, The Flash. However, when The Flash was finally given a movie, Gustin was not approached for a cameo appearance. During GalaxyCon Columbus 2023 (via Instagram), Gustin finally opened up about his absence from the DCEU or the Snyderverse and addressed the disappointment of fans.

“Never, at least, no one officially ever called me in as far as I know. My reps never told me if they did. So yeah, no one ever reached out to me about the movie.”
Even though, much to the disappointment of the DC fandom, Gustin never appears in The Flash movie, both Miller and his respective Flashes managed to cross paths with one another in Arrowverse’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event in 2020.
CW’s The Flash is available to watch on Netflix and the CW app.
