Grant Gustin, the actor who plays Barry Allen/Flash in his self titled show, recently revealed information about the premiere of the show’s season 6. CW’s new series, Crisis on Infinite Earths, will have an impact on The Flash Season 6 in it’s first episode itself. According to Grant, Barry Allen will be visited by the Monitor in the premiere of Season 6, saying that the hero will be forced to make a sacrifice for the universe.

“I can’t spoil too too much because I haven’t read it yet,” Gustin said in the interview. “I’ve been teased a lot from our guys what it’s going to be. The Monitor shows up at the end of the first episode and says the universe is in jeopardy and in order to save the universe, Barry Allen has to die. And Barry Allen doesn’t know about this deal Oliver made with the Monitor, either, so someone’s gonna die.”

The Anti-Monitor was a destructive force that threatened to eradicate all life from the universe

In the comic narrative, “Crisis on Infinite Earths” was initiated when the Anti-Monitor formed a plan in order to destroy all of life in the universe. In order to fight against the Anti-Monitor and his plan, superheroes and villains from the DC Universe teamed up to fight against the threat. The event led to a lot of casualties, with many prominent figures sacrificing themselves, such as Supergirl and Barry Allen.

Flash Season 6 will premiere 8th October 2019

The televised series will deviate from the comic material to an extent, but unsurprisingly, Barry’s death has been hinted by the showrunners for a while. The question of whether Allen will escape from the clutches of death, or succumb to his destiny leaves fans expectant for the next season.
