David Corenswet began working as an actor in theater productions at a young age. He first gained recognition in the industry with his role in the Netflix series The Politician, in which he starred as River Barkley, the political rival and lover of Ben Platt’s Payton Hobart. He went on to star in the limited series Hollywood, and the movies Pearl and The Greatest Hits.

James Gunn wanted to introduce the audience to a younger Superman, which led DC to let go of Henry Cavill and choose Corenswet for the role. While fans are cheering for this new take, a new picture featuring the actor from his trainer (via Instagram) has got them saying that he would make for a good version of Wolverine. Here is what some of them had to say:

Corenswet’s beefed-up body and facial hair seem to be giving strong Wolverine vibes to fans. As of now, Hugh Jackman is still playing the role, but if Marvel ever considers working with a younger version of the character, the We Own the City actor might make for a good candidate.

David Corenswet’s Tall Stature as Superman Needs the DCU to Have a Tall Batman Too

According to the new picture, Corenswet is 6’4″ tall which is a couple of inches over Cavill. This implies that the Superman in James Gunn’s DCU is quite tall, and also that Batman will have to be quite tall so as not to look odd in front of the Man of Steel. A fan has weighed in on this on X. They wrote:

Cavill is 6’1″ and Ben Affleck is 6’4″ so Superman and Batman in the Snyderverse looked fine even though this is not comic-book-appropriate since the DC comics have a 6’3″ Superman and a 6’2″ Batman, which is the Man of Steel having an inch over the Caped Crusader.

The difference in their heights is very little in the comics so keeping it that way would be a smart move. Considering Gunn intends to do things right this time, the audience might not have much to worry about.
