The English television personality Simon Phillip Cowell is best known as a judge on various talent shows like Pop Idol, American Idol, Got Talent, and The X Factor. He created The X Factor and Got Talent franchises, which have been sold worldwide. In addition to being a $600 Million fortune entrepreneur, he founded the television and music production house Syco, which produced the highly successful Got Talent franchise in the U.S. and the U.K. However, there are reports that after his company Syco’s profits dropped in 2022, the famous judge of America’s Got Talent did not give himself a salary.

Why Simon Cowell Did Not Pay Himself In 2022 At Syco

After Syco’s profits dropped in 2022, music mogul Simon Cowell reportedly didn’t pay himself a salary. However, he will not be hovering around the reduced section of his supermarket later. The Sun reports Syco Holdings Ltd’s profits dropped from £31.88 million in 2021 to £2.27 million in 2021 under the 63-year-old’s direction. Last January, Cowell laid off almost all of his staff at Syco and significantly downsized the multimillion-pound entertainment empire.

According to figures for Syco Holdings Ltd, the company’s value went up slightly to £83M (Approx $101M), but profits were down by £29.6M ($3.62M), and 19 employees’ jobs were lost. He was able to go without a salary in 2021 because a dividend of £45.35m was paid out of the account. He was claimed to have suffered health problems due to the stress of running a global empire but not his $600M wealth.

He said,

“We’ve met the most incredible people along the way, and that’s a big reason why I love doing this show. That is what keeps me on the show. I love that part of it. I love that first Audition when you see someone’s true talent, and you go, ‘Yeah, this is a moment.'”

Cowell continues,

“And when you see them out in the real world, doing well off the back of one of your shows, it’s the best feeling in the world. That’s why you go into the show every year with that feeling of anticipation, going that we could find that person again. And that’s a great feeling.”

AGT: All-Stars, a new extension of America’s Got Talent, premiered on January 2 with the people’s favorite judge Simon Cowell, who returned to the show alongside Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum as part of a new judging panel and host Terry Crews.
