In less than a year, her story has been told three times: in the Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story, the recently released memoir Love, Pamela, and the Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy.
The memoir starts with her early life, specifically her emotionally disturbed experiences, and then jumps to the 1989 Canadian football game when she was first spotted on the Jumbotron. Soon she was known as the ‘blue zone girl,’ and the football team even used her in some of their pre-game commercials. At that point, she understood that modeling could earn her money. And then the actress quickly obtained her first Playboy Magazine cover.
In the memoir, Pamela Anderson relates how Marilyn Grabowski, the photo editor for Playboy, called and asked her to fly to Los Angeles for a test shoot. If everything went according to plan, the editor said, she might appear on the cover of the October 1989 issue.
She received an invitation to the Playboy Mansion to watch a Mike Tyson fight and that evening she met Playboy Founder, Hugh Hefner.
In an interview with Howard Stern, Anderson recalled the fateful day when she arrived at the Playboy Mansion wearing acid-wash jeans and a rock t-shirt and was told, “You know, you can come to the Playboy Mansion closet and get dressed for the next time you come out.”
She describes in the memoir how Hefner was taken aback when she first met him when she became ecstatic upon discovering a Salvador Dali painting in the mansion. Since she cherished the artwork, “[Hefner] could tell I was different,” she said.

Pamela Anderson received numerous calls from casting agents for TV and film projects after her first Playboy cover. And while she was unwilling to accept the majority of the offers, she ultimately consented to make a cameo appearance on Married… with Children.
After that, the Baywatch actress landed a role on the sitcom Home Improvement, where she had an odd encounter with Tim Allen. He allegedly flashed her and said, “It was only fair since he had seen her n*ked too.”
According to Anderson, it was one of many instances where people believed they “knew her enough to make absolute fools out of themselves.” However, Allen refuted the accusation.
The Canadian-American actress, model, and media personality first became famous as the ‘blonde bombshell’ of the 1990s after signing up for Baywatch at the age of 25.
