“He’s struggling”: Reports on Jamie Foxx’s Health Condition After the Oscar Winner Pulls Out of Game Show ‘We Are Family’
Jamie Foxx started his acting career in 1991 when he appeared in the sketch comedy In Living Color. His portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 film Ray won him the Academy Award for Best Actor and the BAFTA Award for Best Actor.
Jamie Foxx became the third male actor in history to have been nominated for two Academy Awards in the same year for two different films. He continued to star in some of the best movies of all time. However, in April 2023, his daughter Corinne Foxx announced that he had to be hospitalized due to an unknown medical illness. Recently, it has been revealed that he has not been doing all too well.
Jamie Foxx is Not Doing Too Well Lately
Jamie Foxx suffered from an extremely terrifying health scare earlier this year. His daughter Corinne Foxx issued a statement on April 12, 2023, stating that her father was recovering from a medical complication that he had faced a day before. Friends, family, and fans wished for the speedy recovery of the actor.
The Project Power star himself addressed his medical condition in May. That same month, Corinne Foxx wrote on Instagram that her father had been out of the hospital for weeks, and even went on to tease an exciting announcement regarding work, which turned out to be the father and daughter duo hosting Fox’s musical guessing game show We Are Family.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Foxx and his daughter were pulling out of the show due to a scheduling conflict. However, as per OK! Magazine, an insider has told a news outlet:
“Jamie pulling out of another project has friends worried that he hasn’t recuperated as well as everyone thinks. He’s struggling, but Jamie has been very private about what happened and his recovery.”
Judging by the various posts in which Foxx was seen playing sports or attending parties, fans were assuming that he was well on the way to recovery, but this recent report suggests otherwise in light of the fact that he and his daughter have been replaced by Anthony Anderson and his mother, Doris Bowman as the hosts of We Are Family.
Jamie Foxx Denied Claims of Sexual Assault Against Him
Recently, Jamie Foxx made headlines after a lawsuit was filed against him alleging that he had s*xually assaulted a woman in a restaurant in New York City. A spokesperson for the actor told PEOPLE in a statement that the incident had never happened and that a similar lawsuit had been filed by the individual against Foxx in 2020, but had been dismissed soon.
In fact, the White House Down actor is planning to take legal action against this individual who has claimed that she was assaulted back in August 2015, and has suffered physical and emotional injuries and even economic harm. The lawsuit had been filed through New York’s Adult Survivors Act.
As far as work is concerned, Jamie Foxx is planning to take things slow so that he can retain the progress he has made so far regarding his health, which seems to be the right decision for him.
