The director recently revealed his plans for how he wants to mix some sci-fi elements into an action film and how he wants to deliver some of the best action and sword-fighting scenes for his fans. This also shows the amount of dedication and hard work that Stahelski is ready to put into the reboot movie.

Stahelski shared with Collider how he has the best team of swordsmen with him to train the actors themselves. He said,

Most of our concern is not about cast training. We have the right cast and right trainers. We’ve dug up some of the best sword people, I’ve ever met in my life.

According to Stahelski, the main challenge is to provide an immersive experience to the audience using different techniques and ways so they don’t get bored. His main focus is to keep the audience engaged throughout long fighting scenes so that it gives them the adrenaline rush they came looking for.

He wants to design a new style of action choreography in Highlander, just like he did with John Wick, so that it keeps the audience engrossed.

Chad Stahelski says action and stunt training is always important

The director thinks that it’s always important for the cast members to get proper action and stunt training to avoid fatal accidents. According to Sportskeeda, Stahelski thinks that getting the stunts right without harming each other is another great challenge, which is why he thinks that Stunt training should have its own Oscar category as well. For John Wick, the director made Keanu Reeves train for different kinds of sports, which included judo, jujutsu, martial arts training, archery, etc.

After watching John Wick, a lot of fans could not believe that Keanu Reeves himself was doing the stunts. But actors like Reeves and Tom Cruise doing their stunts is what adds authenticity to the film and makes it even more exciting for the fans to watch.

Highlander Reboot will start production in Scotland next year.
