One Piece fans would be aware of the SBS Question Corner, a special question corner where Eiichiro Oda answers fan letters. The SBS or “Shitsumon o Boshū Suru?” translates to “I’m Taking Questions?” and provides exclusive information on One Piece. While some questions are highly uncomfortable, a few help readers appreciate the series more.

One such question comes from a fan in Volume 91 of the SBS Question Corner asking Oda what Zoro would look like at ages 40 and 60. Oda gladly humored the fan with sketches of Zoro at ages 40 and 60.

Zoro’s Named Katanas

Roronoa Zoro is known for wielding three katanas at the same time, one in each hand and one in his mouth. The Wado Ichimonji, his first-ever sword, is one of the 21 Great Grade Swords. Forged by the legendary Shimotzuki Kozaburo, who also forged Enma, the Wado Ichimonji is a legendary sword that Zoro acquires after Kuina’s death.

Zoro acquires the Sandai Kitetsu, a Grade Sword that holds a powerful curse, and Yubashiri, a Skillfull Grade Sword in Episode 49. The Sandai Kitetsu holds a curse so powerful that the shopkeeper initially hesitated to sell it. However, after seeing Zoro’s test, he was convinced to sell the sword.

The shopkeeper also decided to give the Yubashiri, a family heirloom, to Zoro for free. Unfortunately, the sword is turned into a pile of rust after his encounter with Shu, a marine captain, in the Enies Lobby Arc.

However, Zoro’s most powerful swords are Shusui and Enma. Shusui is a Great Grade Sword infused with Haki, making it as powerful as Wado Ichimonji, while Enma is his most powerful sword yet.

Oda’s Hilarious Artwork

The first panel of the artwork suggests a future where nothing goes wrong and a possibility of Zoro mastering four, or even five-sword style!

Considering that Zoro has wielded five swords so far in the series, Oda’s artwork is not too far from the truth. The second panel humorously depicts Zoro at ages 40 and 60 in a possible future where things go wrong. He captions the art with the following statements: “Holding that katana with my mouth makes my back hurt…” and “I’ll bow down to you if you just gimme some cash.”

The first art in the second panel depicts an aged and balding Zoro, while the second art portrays a senile Zoro with a toothless smile.
